Haven't you heard fozzies explanations that volumes are down, vehicles are down, staff are down, hours are down and savings are up it must be true because fozzie has had a wealth of experience at all levels - I think that was when Tony Benn was the Postmaster General of course.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:We've had to bring in 3 hire vans because of the later starts just to do the collections (1 year x 3 vansdvbuk55 wrote:In the past bulk postings such as light bulbs, business directories etc., had a special agreement whereby a certain amount of overtime was allocated to the job and it was carried out quickly and efficiently in no time at all with vehicles in the afternoon - people didn't mind the overtime because they finished by 11.30 went home had a bite to eat relaxed for a couple of hours and then went in to do another 2,3,4 hours on overtime - when we were actually paid something for overtime.
Times now are such that an ordinary delivery isn't finished in sufficient time for the vehicles to have a dual purpose except for a limited use for the few collections still carried out.I can see the savings now).

There will always be a disparity between statistics, figures and recorded figures in whatever field of work they are used, but more especially so when bonuses and financial plans are taken into account. I honestly do not believe that all mail from MCs or RDCs is counted to the exact letter, packet and flat and the reason is because of the way its presented at DOs. Yes yorkies and perstops may have counted mail in it but I can't see how Diverts and sacks can.

Listen helpful or not you shouldn't make statements that are blatantly at odds with our experience.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:No it was post SDD and he has been a help to this site so please everyone try not to slag off or denigrate people just because they have a different view then you do.dvbuk55 wrote:Haven't you heard fozzies explanations that volumes are down, vehicles are down, staff are down, hours are down and savings are up it must be true because fozzie has had a wealth of experience at all levels - I think that was when Tony Benn was the Postmaster General of course.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:We've had to bring in 3 hire vans because of the later starts just to do the collections (1 year x 3 vansdvbuk55 wrote:In the past bulk postings such as light bulbs, business directories etc., had a special agreement whereby a certain amount of overtime was allocated to the job and it was carried out quickly and efficiently in no time at all with vehicles in the afternoon - people didn't mind the overtime because they finished by 11.30 went home had a bite to eat relaxed for a couple of hours and then went in to do another 2,3,4 hours on overtime - when we were actually paid something for overtime.

I'm sorry I wasn't prying - it's just that the overtime isn't really overtime - I know it's more money but in order to get "overtime" we would have to work over 40 hours. Not that that is unfair, you could hardly expect a full timer to work for less money - it is just that RM are getting work done on the cheap consistently by not increasing the hours of part timers proportionately to the "overtime" hours worked - still you'd expect that when the volume of mail is decreasing.linkinpark wrote:Part time brother! Just my wife is good at making the money go round. LOL. Aint i lucky? Yeah not worked that one out yet either! LOL. Ooooh i feel the room closing in.dvbuk55 wrote:Just as a matter of interest link are you on a full or part time contract?
