That's a delivery only duty but because of management deception they have to come in and prep the duty (all for a bit of OT) saving RM a fortune in wages/holiday pay etc. plus you're more likely to work the OT because your basic is so low.

Got in very late got a Dim on my back as soon as I got in the door "where you been " etc "Listen boss we don't all live in town like you ,I live out in the sticks where we have REAL weather"

We were well shafted today you name it we got it to deliver ,thankfully the parcel side of my delivery was light .
Got out to the van to have the same probs as I had with my car .Dropping bags off the drop boxes were frozen solid outwith the trusty ole flame thrower of a lighter I keep in the van for just such occassions ,defrosted the locks in Jig time .

Out to the rural part of my delivery black ice still on all the sideroads took forever ,frozen letterboxes ,frozen gates feck it I was an hour slower than normal resigned myself that I would'nt make the Dundee Utd cup game ,when it came on the radio game was postponed because of ice .
On the town part of my delivery the roads improved the gritters had been out ,but the letterboxes were still frozen
The temp gauge in the van said -5c it was feckin cold
Got back to the office to find my car frozen up again
Feckin shite day

Image Well I hope everyone survives the floods that are predicted for this week.

Today was a mare even though it was very steady. Soaked to the bone and I only wore RM approved kit.

Royal Mail must be the only firm that supplies wet kit that seems to absorb the rain instead of repelling it.

Seemed quite light in our office on weight but then realised we had water rates through so although not much mail wenty to nearly all houses, was about halfway round and thought I might beat the rain, errrrrr NO about 10 minutes after thinking it it came down with avengance for 10 minutes got soaked to the bine then it drizzled for the rest of the delivery. So all in all a shite day.
