I think you're right. Most people in my office keep saying park and loop won't happen for a good 18 months yet, even though managers are already planning the walks. But I bet if there is a £1000 carrot linked to completing a park and loop revision...it will be in quicker than you can say....2 men and a con...erm..I mean van.More carrots for the sad donkeys that do not look beyond the first two pages!.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
I hope when the PEC and everyone else gets to read the agreement that they have a dictionary/thesaurus on hand, just incase there are words like flexibility/lapsing/absorbtion/modernisation and they can look up the definitions this time!!
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
We've been told that our office has 36 vans on order and park and loop will start in September.
My line manager went to a meeting yesterday to be briefed on it.

Hope this helps....Stormproof wrote:I hope when the PEC and everyone else gets to read the agreement that they have a dictionary/thesaurus on hand, just incase there are words like flexibility/lapsing/absorbtion/modernisation and they can look up the definitions this time!!
WORD... DEFINITION
flexibility... 8hrs work in 5hr contracts
lapsing... 200hrs of labour per week for 300hrs work per week - every week
absorbtion... 100hrs of labour per week for 400hrs work per week ( if it didn't work first time doesn't mean it was a crap idea, does it? )
modernisation... privatisation ( aka, the bosses and shareholders get the gold mine, the workers, the public and the taxpayer get the shaft ).
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

It's spanned out into the other threads.linkinpark wrote:How strange is this, a mega active thread and it then dies a death? Anyone know why? was it something i said? I doubt it! Yet nobody has something to say on this subject? Nothing as strange as folk i say.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
We already DO work those hours. In our office HCTs finish at 14.15 and the shared vans 14.30. Either way, the day has gone by the time you finish.naughton wrote:Its not just people with familys affected, plenty of single people live for their saturday afternoon fix of watching football, racing and many other pastimes ,that they have probably done for years, and any ploy to get us working while 2-30-3-00 ish should be rejected out of hand-WE SHOULD WORK TO LIVE-NOT LIVE TO WORK.
The union screwed up big time years ago. They should have ended Saturdays when we went to 5 day working. Adding the Saturday hours to the week day attendance. Yet another opportunity missed for a better work/life balance.
