Today mail level was at a acceptable level

I delivered lots of birthday cards today

Most annoying thing of the day, I know i have a red envelope i will use a red pen to write the address down

Why not just have done with the thing completely and address it to, 'Santa Claus, North Pole' (?)

They go to RLC in Belfast for processing (cut off day was 11th I think)

disaplinary fact finding interview,2 hours and still have to wait a week for a verdict.

Finished at the same time today and then walked to the DO for some sorting. Stayed until 6pm, went to Tescos to pick up some shopping and then walked home. Weather was fine all day: didn't notice the cold. Had the usual 'requests from the street': one wanted me to look through all the letters in my bag to see if I had hers, then walk with her to the end of the street, hand her mail to her when she was inside the house and then walk all the way back to continue with my walk. The intonation in my voice sort-of seemed to dissuade her from continuing with her 'flight of fancy'. One jolly customer called me, 'Postman Pat', which I hate, and we had yet another 'memory man' request: apparently, I now have the ability to guess whether or not I have mailed a house down the street just by looking at what car is outside - I must admit, this new-found power that I have gained from all the maildust is truly awesome! After leaving 'post the letter' mode, and trying to take in the shite that the young lad has just uttered, I spluttered, 'Go check for yourself'. He scarpered, I am pleased to say. The same, old, jolly attendant was in the petrol station and I helped meself to a pint of milk. Both heels are sore but I am happy at home. More sorting tomorrow at 5am. Yay!

there was definitely something wrong today - on a day we expected to be the heaviest of the christmas period I was finished at 13:20 after having 4 underweight satchels with no packets to speak of when at the end of last week I was sending out 8 satchels and leaving the office looking like Santa's sleigh - there must be a holdup somewhere - hope it clears tomorrow on my day off.

Took me 4 hours today got them to do my last 2 bags and still finnished an hour late which I'll book tommorow, i'm hopeing that today was the worst of it.
A lot of peeps are refuseing overtime this year has any one else noticed that in thier offices ?.

Finished at roughly the usual time (2.5 hours over), with the inverse weight law figuring in the calculations. A significant number of customers have mentioned (a) the fact that I must be cold while on duty (I definitely am not - quite the opposite, in fact) and (b) it must be busy at this time of year (which it is not: if anything, it's all very quiet on the walk). I have successfully worn-in the regulation boots and am sorting to-speed. I have also worked out my own method for making sure all the mail is delivered correctly, and after two days' piloting, seems to work like a dream. All my little bits and bats are where they should be at home, in the DO and out on the walk and I have my own little routines and habits in-place. Cushty. Not bad for a month. At end of walk, walked into city centre, and prayed in City Hall prayer room. Clouds meant that there was much less of a chill in the air. Good, old Bradford! Now sat drinking a nice, hot cup of tea and chomping on dates with margarine, ready for prayers at 7.45 ala mosque. SaWtid (sorry - that's 'sorted' with a Laandan accent).

Had to split up a few of the bags as I couldn't get everything in.

Almost the same here: the first bag was FULL: all the businesses! I split the bag and the second was still huge! I was walking around at 1.5mph until the second bag was half-empty!

Bloody awful day.

Load of mail sorting from 6am to 11.15 (apart from 10 mins break and 1 hr sorting rack) then delivery from 11.40 to 3.30 on a walk which normally talk 200 minutes.

Too many christmas cards I am knackered.
