F ing hilarious that leaflet. It’s says 67% buy something after getting a d2d that means 2/3rd of my delivery have gone and bought a new conservatory or whatever. How utterly ridiculous.
If Royal Mail are going to make up stats they should at least be slightly believable!

Honestly it’s fun to have a whinge but if you are seriously unhappy about d2ds your in the wrong job. Just get over it, post them it’s easy, you get paid for it, not like writing a f’ing p739 in the rain then they open the door! Just pop them through easy. If you do 1/6th a day there not that bad.

Your hypothetical example lines up with RM's old line a decade ago - the sub 10% of people that actually look at D2D are the ones that make it profitable. It's just that we have to annoy the other 90% in the process. The future was to be 'smarter' targeted D2D
