You on the other hand have simply shown yourself up to be a bitter and nasty little man.
And the ad hominem stuff there on salmond and sturgeon is a key reason why no better together thanks are losing this. Play the man, not the ball.Tman wrote:So you advocate jumping off the side of (what you perceive to be) an inefficient ship, and just hope that something you may find floating in the water just might be better? Really strange logic.
Whatever shortcomings (and I agree he's a useless tw*t) of Mr Balls, at least he knows which currency he and the rest of the country, will be using.
MacSmug has a lovely singing voice though....maybe him and Jimmy Krankie can soothe your future financial pain, although I suspect one way or another, the rest/remainder of the UK will be picking up the tab somewhere along the line.

In the post today you will probablly have recieved a document from CWU Nationally on the Scottish Referendum recomending a NO vote on the 18th. This is to remind you all that your Branch Scotland No2 recomends you vote YES. This Branch spoke against the National Excutive motion at Annual Conference stating that it should be left to the Scottish membership to decide what way to vote there followed a heated debate but sorry to say their motion was carried that then became CWU policy hence the document that has been sent to you today. This does not stop Branches putting their own recommendations and ours is to Vote YES.
This morning the Branch phone has hardly stopped from members wanting to resign from the Union over the National Recomedation I have managed to calm the majority not to resign but instead by all means vent your feelings to Billy Hayes,(bhayes@cwu.org) but most importantly to VOTE YES on the 18TH.
Yours Sincerely
Fish just curious as to why you think we will be better of in an independent Scotland with Royal Mail when you look at the geographical state of Scotland .
The big centres have always subsidised the rural areas so why do think we can prosper breaking away from Royal Mail.

No, there's nothing worse than a minor politician playing the petty nationalism trick, and McSmug plays it for all he's worth. And the ad hominem stuff there on salmond and sturgeon is a key reason why no better together thanks are losing this. Play the man, not the ball.
Demand? Aye? Clearly you never actually read it.speckledtangerine wrote:The whole argument behind Scottish independence is largely the people of Scotland making decisions for ourselves and being accountable for them. Better together thinks Westminster knows best or in the case of the CWU, Wimbledon knows best. The irony is not lost on me.
A pamphlet on why Billy Hayes and his gang demand i vote no came through today. Given the fact that my branch (Scotland no. 2) were denied conference time to argue the motion, with others, will not be lost on members here in Scotland.
It was a diktat.
Billy, I'll be voting yes.

Independence means goodbye to Ofcom and the regulations it currently imposes. Direct delivery could be stopped in its tracks and DSA could be tackled. These are things that Ofcom has the power to do now but refuses. The revenues from this will help offset the remote area costs. The EU directive is not clear on what constitutes a threat to the USO of each member state so we could be like France and play hard ball and cut DSA down to size.mailman71 wrote:
