A dead body!! Well. it was at a funeral directors. I had a special and normally you go in through the garage door and shout. I went through and shouted...no answer....so walked through another door that said said strictly no access... I thought 'they won't mind..i'm the postie'...and then I saw why!! Some old dear laying on the table! I didn't recognise her though, and made a sharp exit feeling.....a little shall we say...sick!!
Went back later to get a signature!

Found a bloke having an heart attack, had to call 999 and wait with him - hes dead now. Also had a woman shout through the front door that her boyfriend had locked her in, did my good deed for the day and let her out. I found it quite hard to believe that he did that by accident :chuckle She vowed revenge.

I found £70 lying in the road once.

Then, just the other day I found a dog taking a dump (which smelled so bad I almost puked) in some poor fellow's front garden, while the owners indifferently walked past and waited for it to catch up.

Once I was about to put some letters through someone's door and found a banana sticking out of the letterbox.

The customer was inside wondering what the hell I was doing messing around so I had to shout to her through the door "There's a banana in your letterbox" so she could remove it which is probably the most bizarre thing I have said on my deliveries.

I thought about writing "No access - banana" for a minute though.

Haha, I remember going through the hazard log thingy with a line manager for a town centre route, I had to tell him to put down "slipping on puke" as a hazard.

Saturday morning is normally Keys in doors and car boots and the usual assortments of shite that has fallen out of various purses and wallets s students try to let into their homes, drunk at 4am.

One morning, I found a suitcase on wheels on a door step. Knocked , only for some drop dead, but half asleep woman to answer. Turns out she was an airline stewardess who had come home in the wee hours and was so tired she'd let herself in and just went to bed.

But, a lot of times people will just look embarrassed and simply 'thank you' for telling them that their keys are in the door or that the hatch-back boot is wide open. But if they don't - They can expect a 739 card the next time a packet comes their way!!! :no no :no no

A Posties toil can be sometimes be rewarding, the odd fiver or tenner here, a bag of speed there and the obligatory porn mag stash to while away the hours in the office ( 50+ seems to be the fave age on my round for some reason!) but it's the £1 coin that some f****r has super-glued to the pavement on my round, that still catches me out every now and then!!! :d'oh!
