dingo wrote:Postman the guidelines talk about volunteers only but and there is a but if any office collectively decides to all veto the CDVs then management will say to the union that is not in line with the spirit of the agreement.
Royal Mail in their original guidelines had the option of compulsion but the union mangaged to remove it but on the basis that they would not be a collective opposition to CDVs.
So yes individuals will not be forced to drive CDVs in line with the guidelines. But if an office has collectively decided that noone will volunteer then I expect Royal Mail will ask for urgent talks with the union to discuss this issue in the same way if Royal Mail break the agreement that the union will demand that management act.
id say if you havent got the seniority its a case of drive here or goto another office if you dont take a job in the end its a case of
we offered you a job theres none left get to the dole office
rember no compulsory redundancies so where do the mail centre staff go who want to keep a job
So you're right then again if so please post the replies that have been recived from the tax office
as for folding yes you're right again the union has nothing wrong with it and every deal they do is in our best intrest
i bow down to a supperior being who's a font of all knowledge ...''but i dont bloody well belive it '' not a word
When is there a tax charge on a
company van?
Employees pay tax on a company van if they or a member of
their family or household make private use of it. If the
employee has the van mainly for work journeys (for example,
delivering goods or making calls to customers), and the only
private use is commuting, there is no tax to pay.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well there's 1 of the great demons about CDV been exorcised dingo's been backed up .
How many is left now to get in a state of mass hysteria over.

This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

How will you get there?
Drive?
Can you tell us what happens if an office genuinely doesnt have enough drivers, please dingo?
Was there not a line in the agreement that said in a few cases bikes may still be utilised on delivery. Maybe they would cover it this way, albeit temporarily, converting to CDV usage as and when enough drivers become available through new recruits, people changing their mind, or if they are non drivers having lessons paid for by RM?
dingo wrote:Pat no I meant that too many of our members are still driving their own cars and chasing time.
If there is still bullying happening by management then that needs to stop.
However I can only talk for the two regions I cover and say that management are certiainly abiding by the agreement thus far. We had the Local revision workshop today in North West London and joint involvement and working togather was the two key objectives.
Given the fact that North West London had 20 days of strike action last year , trust is a differcult issue to gain , but the 6 phase revison process gives the union and the member the full opportunity to ensure that they have all the information , ensure that the correct information is imputed and that the duty set which comes out is acceptable.
If this is not happening in your office can I suggust you flag it up to your Branch and your Division. The agreement insists that the revision is jointly worked up with joint objectives and that it is not acceptable for a manager to just introduce what they want.
Look this agreement allows for the most involvement ever by union officials and the office , everything from the intial survey , to A Plus , sid and sarah , geo route , indoor workload tool , delivery capicity model , the model week , how the walk is done , how the duty is done, how the loops are done and how CDVs are deployed.
There is no point is slaging the agreement off if your not make sure that your manager is actually adhering to the agreement.
Stop the moaning and get in touch with your Branch and get them to act.
axeman wrote:keys are itro £30 / 40 ? (mine cost nearer £80 + the cost of programing) as they come chipped but have to be coded to the vehicle no doubt they have spares ( locked myself out before) available but the question would they want to purchase extras
Yes, but you're an individual buying an addional key. RM are bulk buying vehicles, so they'd get a discount. Particularly as the unprogrammed keys could be produced at the time of manufacture. It'd just be a case of providing 3 keys, instead of the usual 2, and not programming the last one. Although, there would admittedly, be the problem of getting unprogrammed keys for the existing CDVs. But they'd still get some kind of discount for bulk buying.
Don't knock Insanity
it's just another outlook on Reality!
Dingo you really are showing your true colours and I think you have got things ass backwards. Your on OUR side right? I am NOT moaning. And for the third time I HAVE been in contact with National/Area/Local reps and not much has happened.

No idea on that score but what we do know is about ERICA and MARY.
ERICA = Electronic Reporting of Incidents for Collating and Analysis / MARY = Management and Assessment of Risk in Yards
