It does make you wonder what there was to chat about for 5 months without getting agreements with any real substance. Money well spent?

Walks that would take 3-15hrs are well below the 3hr mark,i would say 2-45hrs.

Now this may be a London thing i don't know, but i think we have to be honest when it comes to the traffic we get now.
Ere up norf, Mondays are either a doddle or shocking, varies week to week. Tuesdays are a doddle, simple. Then 3 of the next 4 days , in varying orders are absolutley shocking, and 1 days ok out the 4. Thursdays are usually the worst of the worst, today was an absolute killer :arrrghhh

im in London and you have just described our office

So what the hell is happening with this so called joint statement, when do we the ones that matter get to know where we stand, our area rep knows nothing of any joint statement, there must be someone on here with the balls to let us know.

Same here, but... we have longs and shorts, so the 'easy' days aren't really easy, as we have an hour less to do it all in.

Well that's an interesting titbit - because the content could only be based on what the joint statement will be and that hasn't seen the light of day yet. TBH that does surprise me because you'd have thought that before the CWU put the agreement before the membership they would have had some idea what was being asked - but perhaps that wouldn't matter.

No worries there ft, you see unions don't go broke, although I don't remember which of the holy trinity said it, they merge with another union :wave then they take on more staff, become bigger, spend more, fail to represent the membership, have that membership fail to respond and merge with another one -- or at least that is the theory .................... there must be a name for it...................

Personally speaking I would rather have dvbuk fighting my corner than some of the union guys we have in our office. Financially, dvb has gained, it's the union that has lost and its about time the CWU took the same stance before we all go.

TBH Pat, it was a sad day for me because for 37 years I had been a member of a union, since I left the forces at 27 and was proud to be so and have been on strike many times and supported some pretty thin excuses for local strike action and stood on the picket line countless times, supported the CWU every time I was asked to. In my world loyalty is a two way street and I would move heaven and earth to keep my word at any cost, honour seems to be a thing of the past.

My decision to leave the union was a personal one, because I do not believe that there is any possibility that a change of tac is about to take place now or at any time in my foreseeable future.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Royal Mail and the CWU will meet Thursday and the aim is to produce a joint statement confirming the latest postion on deliveries and management confirming the documents are withdrawn and of course the next steps.
So a whole week has passed & still no news of the elusive Joint Statement
The Local & Area Reps are on their Work-shops
So my question is .. Why has there been NO announcement & what the bloody-hell
are Our Reps being briefed on???
May-be one for DINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wave :wave

You see glenno, you didn't actually read it properly, it does say "the aim is", you know when you first get up in the morning and rushing a bit in the loo, well that's the sort of thing they're talking about, what they mean to say is the intention is there but hey who cares if the aim is met or net.
