Theres lots of things workers don’t want to do
If the manager allows the jobs that need doing not to be done then its a management issue
It’s different from how you’ve framed it

Of course it's a management issue, and it comes back at them in bucketloads on a Monday when they act surprised why people are failing more and more due to having to do Saturdays work (door to doors prep) on a Monday, or at least start some of it.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 09:58Theres lots of things workers don’t want to do

The general point raised was that staff need to clock in/out and let management, manage. Not try and influence them to get away with not doing something.

Does it say anywhere that staff (either drivers or non drivers) must stay indoors on a Saturday to prep D2D?
Genuine question by the way

I'd imagine that it's a resonable request to stay in and prep door to doors and not a free for all do what ever you want on a saturday.
Serious answer.

Oh yeah I get that but the impression I get from previous posts is that people are upset that staff aren't being kept indoors to prep D2D, I might be wrong.

There is no agreement or rule and will differ from office to office and likely week to week within that office what people are asked to do on a SaturdayA2B wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 11:22Oh yeah I get that but the impression I get from previous posts is that people are upset that staff aren't being kept indoors to prep D2D, I might be wrong.
If people are upset that non drivers are going out and doing parcels instead of prepping door to doors then take it up with the management rather than moan about the non drivers
There will be just as many, in fact there will or would be more, moaning that non drivers are being kept indoors rather than out helping with the Tracked than the other way about
Im willing to bet no non driver is going out to do parcels rather than door to doors without the management ok'ing it and given theres no agreement that any non driver MUST stay indoors ultimately the manager can decide whats best themselves
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

That's my thoughts as well.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 12:18There is no agreement or rule and will differ from office to office and likely week to week within that office what people are asked to do on a SaturdayA2B wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 11:22Oh yeah I get that but the impression I get from previous posts is that people are upset that staff aren't being kept indoors to prep D2D, I might be wrong.

I'm sure there's a few who would prefer to stay in the office but I wouldn't want to even if the weather was grim

Re: LTB 248/26 – Update on Delivery Model 26 (DM26)
Staff ARE complaining in ours that 2 people are being sent out on a 1 person job (tracked and 1C over 2 duties) on a Saturday when other singles are given 2 duties worth on their own. This has nothing to do with driving or not driving as 90% of our pods are staffed with 3 driving staff. The pods are being basically kept together on a Saturday with a clear incentive to be on the 2 duties with the 2 people.
It would make far more sense for the pair to take 2/3 of the combined 4 duties workload, and the single to do 1/3 of the total, kind of like how it's supposed to work Mon-Fri, but management aren't strong enough to enforce anything. We have enough staff on a Saturday (outwith 'peak') to get everything done and a great start on the weeks door to doors, but this just isn't happening. It's 100% down to poor management, but those in charge need to spread the workload out without fear or favour.

It's not long since people on here were moaning like f**k that non drivers were destined to stay in on Saturdays prepping d2ds whilst they were out grafting.
Just saying...

Theres a thing that all the non drivers or whatever , want to stay in the office and do about 7 hours of continues door to doors . Nobody at ours wants to do that , the other local offices are saying the same thing. Whole dm26 is a sham. Ted e bear you are so right with your post above. All moaning about non drivers being allowed to stay in , now moaning about dtds piling up. Sums up the place

Re: LTB 248/26 – Update on Delivery Model 26 (DM26)
No. However, under DM26 someone has to put them in before the start of the week in order that a duty can clear them in a minimum of two passes (ie, a walk only going out Tuesday and Thursday). In practice this means they need to be in on Saturday to free up Monday prep, and in practice the number one unutilised resource on a Saturday will be non-drivers as all outdoor tasks require driving. In offices without non-drivers, some proportion of drivers will be staying in to prep them instead.
In actual practice, D2D is right at the bottom of the fabled list of priorities. If walks aren't shifting (which wasn't supposed to happen) then non-drivers will be sent out to clear something on foot. It was anticipated in the model that if packet or 1C volumes exceed the capabilities of a single person then non-drivers or unassigned drivers alike can be paired with someone to help out.
Resourcing is management's problem, though. It's their call who does what. It's weak management if OPGs are ruling the roost. It feels wrong to say that when almost always you just want them to leave you alone so you can get on with things, yet unfortunately there's plenty of colleagues who cannot be trusted to do an honest day's work.
The machine stops.

That is not the case everywhere, HCT are used on Saturday in a nearby office and I guess a lot of urban areas will be doing the same.Mr Rush wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 17:06No. However, under DM26 someone has to put them in before the start of the week in order that a duty can clear them in a minimum of two passes (ie, a walk only going out Tuesday and Thursday). There never was or will be a time when we all work the same way, I guess that's why they have said to local managers get DM26 done in anyway you can.
Fairly sure I've read on here of offices paying OT to put D2D in before shift

Re: LTB 248/26 – Update on Delivery Model 26 (DM26)
It's a sham really that RM continue to charge customers substantial sums for D2D's to be delivered then have no real model in place to prep them, so they can then be delivered.

Take me to that place where there are even enough staff to contemplate them being spare to throw in dtd.
