I'll be honest I made a mistake in leaving my MGV Driver job after only 3 weeks ( just before Xmas ). I never settled in or gave the job a chance. They let me go straight away with no notice to be worked ( to my surprise ) and looking back I wish I had stayed longer. I have tried to come back in, even through the agency but they aren't interested, or answer any emails. I know I made a mistake but I was hoping for another chance, seen as I was good enough to employ the first time round.
Speaking as someone who did 30 years on delivery before moving to distribution if you didn't like doing mgv jobs at royal mail seriously don't get a job on deliveries! Distribution is so easy compared to deliveries it is unbelievable. Chances are the job you had will have been filled by someone else now, where I work getting onto the mgv side you need to have plenty of seniority to stand a chance. The fact you got a job through an external advert meant you was very lucky in the first place
I didn't give it a chance to know if I'd like it or not. I had 1 day training to try and take it all in, and it was Xmas pressure. Like I say looking back I should have tried, and I appreciate I was lucky to be offered a role as an external. I now regret my decision in leaving.

The latest Inflation Rate (Consumer Prices Index) has just been announced this morning and it has come in at exactly 3%. Does that trigger a renegotiation, being exactly 3%? Is it CPI they use, or the other inflation measure (RPI - Retail Prices Index)?
Not many organisations use RPI any more. It's generally more costly too as it's generally higher.

We have to wait for the March CPI figure to be announced, then it’s the average over the first three months of the year. Higher than 3%, which it will be , then more long winded negotiations will take place. Expect to receive the rise in September/ October, as always. :thumbdown

The costs for sourcing, training and replacing new staff in ours must be astronomical.
Training :left:
I use the term quite loosely.
New entrants in ours are generally paired up with someone who doesn't mind a bit of extended delivery overtime. It can be anything up to 2 hours a day per person, which is the cost I'm talking about that is there perpetually always people being trained due to the revolving door of new staff.
