The Shein contract has killed off the concept of light days, every day is busy on packets now.

Yep 2 and 3 quarter hours sorting small packets to walks, put us really behind. Never ceases to amaze me how much sh1t people order, so often the same ones.
I have 4 or 5 customers on my round who have to order something daily. It's like an addiction / some sort of psychological thing where they get to look forward to a new 'gift' for themselves each and everyday. Nobody needs something new every single day - it's gotta be a comfort thing.
And not just Royal Mail, they’ll be DPD and EVRI vans either pulling away from the house or right behind you!!

2nd wagon arriving late and 2/3’s full is killing our office as we are not getting out until around 10am and with a 3pm-3.15pm finish time.
The local MC will be sending out everything available to go at the wave 1 dispatch time. It must be arriving at the MC later so more missing wave 1.
They leave the majority of letters&flats to the 2nd wagon and we get a full York to sort and 1 person on IPS to do it.

Absolute madness!!

Some customers will be suffering withdrawal symptoms tonight as we only had a handful of parcels to deliver today on each duty, although typically one elderly couple who have parcels virtually everyday still managed to get one delivered!

I do wonder what they do with everything, do they store it somewhere in the house or just most items to the sender every day?

The local MC has probably had just about everyone on packets, the packets manager probably isn't releasing staff to the flats & letters manager till late

Most likely ends up in the bin after a few days/ weeks.

There's a lot of sad individuals out there who don't have a life. They are clearly suffering from some form of mental health issue/depression and they need to get new things every day to try and get a dopamine hit. They have a void to fill, unfortunately nothing they buy is going to help them in the long run. The key is to make personal life changes. Getting out of their house and going for a long walk would be a start.

New idea: receive a parcel and get a free postman's bag containing the loop you live on that hasn't been out in several days.
The machine stops.

we all have them on our rounds, the ones with new mobility cars, receiving parcels day after day, the wiff of weed when the door opens. You walk off thinking why the hell am I doing this.

Not only this, it`s the people who live in small houses in less well-off areas that are the culprits. How do they afford it ? Where do they put it all? Then worst of all, we have to collect the stuff they don`t want a couple of days later, some of it unfit to take, even though they know how the process works. It just wastes more and more time that we don`t have. I`m close to telling my DOM that I refuse to do collections at that address. Had to deliver a washing up bowl that they could have got the same day in the High Street, and , of course, it was packaged in flimsy cardboard that was barely intact.

And then There are those who are actually on Holidays yet spend their holidays ordering more crap knowing they won’t be there to receive it.
But as someone else said its the workshy layabouts who can afford as much as their house can take in that really pisses me off the most. Takes ages to open the door then asks stupid questions like “whats in that”. Open it up and find out ya prick :arrrghhh

Haha!!

I’ve got a couple who are currently on a cruise and the next door neighbour is taking all the parcels in for them.

Deliver the parcels one day then pick them up the following day on collection.
