Tell me how someone doing 150 tracked plus 50 first class letters is as fair and achievable as someone else doing half that amount. This is expected to happen.
Duties as they are aren’t portable to a tracked only and 1st class system.

Saturdays may be a problem.
When someone at my office has to do all tracked off a CDV when resourcing issues arise they often fail now by anything up to 40 items, even on a Saturday.
Adding some mail into the equation will be unachievable for some.
If everyone is full time though you may possibly get out the door earlier and have longer delivery span.
They may have to add some extra duties in.
Hopefully anyway.

But what if you get 3-4 D2Ds on the 4 duties and one of your partner's is a part timer that doesn't come in til later? I work on my own and my paired duty is now a lapsing duty so I'm responsible for 1300 D2Ds. If I get 4 of them on each frame it would take me a total of around 3 hours to get them all in the frame so if 3 people are responsible for 4 duties then that is around 2500 delivery points hence 2500 leaflets and if you get 4 leaflets that could be 10,000 of them. How could they be all prepped up on a Monday and Tuesday? It's an impossible task when you have to also prep up the frames and get out of the door.
It's now going to be less people to more frames going forward and if you have a part timer that comes in at 9am then that leaves 2 people responsible for 4 duties of D2Ds, that is basically double what we have now.

Re-reading the points the extra parcel duties wed-sat will help make the workload more achievable.

I bet they say just do your best. In my 10 years experience at RM, D2D weren’t high up the priority list of managers unless they were being audited or had instructions from above.
I remember once being put on a monster round of 1300 calls which had 7 D2Ds. I asked my manager for help prepping, he said they should only take 20 mins to get into the frame.
He seriously expected me to get 8 leaflets prepped into a slot every second. I’ve very fast hands but not that fast!
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
Dress it up how you want but this means huge job losses. God knows where this 2,600 number is coming from. Does the union seriously think that RM would be undergoing such an upheaval just to get rid of 2,600 people. You’re having the wool pulled over your eyes. 3 people covering 4 rounds means 1 in 4 is not needed so this equals a 25% reduction in staff numbers!!!!!
Not necessarily, some DOs won't have enough staff so the DOs with excess staff, will probably have the excess staff compulsory transferred to DOs who are short on staff
How many DO's are 25% understaffed? If RM is going to save £300m it doesn't take a lot to work out the full time staff reduction i.e. £300m divide £30K salary equals 10,000 less full time employees, I've no idea what staff turnover is a year but I'd be surprised if 7,500 full timers left annually.

They come out with some nonsense. I just say I’ll try my best and let the failures happen.
Used to be a simple job with a decent bit of effort for the payoff of an early finish and some job satisfaction. Now you are expected to put 110% effort to clear 50% of your duty. I'd rather be on the front lines
Once RM call the trial a success it'll be implemented across the county nationwide. The uso will have been changed and RM will return to profit due to job cuts. All the millions of profit will end up in the pockets of shareholders and fat bosses. In the meantime RM will continue to operate in worn out vans, offices and worn out staff. Once all the money is taken out of the company through property sell off and asset stripping, RM will return to losses again and will be telling the government the uso needs to change. Then it'll be sold again or maybe it'll just fold completely as all the assets will be gone.
