If for nothing else why are they offering us this so called agreement we all have to question this and in doing so why are the union recommending it well they negotiated it with the RM board and most possibly MOYA now let me say this nothing has swayed my thoughts more than the out door workers for whom this will impact most things like time capture and actual's PDA spying as it is called. But even this is nothing it is about the CULTURE of the business all words but no action today seen with my own eyes this culture is NOT going too change ever if anything it will get worse this workplace is a far cry from the good old day's where we had banter and a laugh more like tears and fears and punches and bloody faces so I say NO!

The agreement is aspirational for Royal Mail and of where they want to be in the future. The SWW is something that the CWU views as a good thing because staff work shorter hours to incorporate longer duty spans whereas Royal Mail are more hellbent on getting productivity up if staff are working less hours for the same amount of pay. Throw in trials for PDA actuals and perhaps later starts/finishes and there could well be a head-on collision going to happen as staff feel they are getting bullied and harassed in to working faster. Quite strange that the CWU never thought about that in the agreements.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Well they don't as they don't do the work we do and management will also avoid work and guess who will be piggy in the middle again!postslippete wrote:The agreement is aspirational for Royal Mail and of where they want to be in the future. Royal mail have agreed to SWW because they have been studying PDA log off times and still feel there are plenty of staff making time in D.Os. This is totally inaccurate as so many cut corners, to achieve any early finish. Once RM decide to stop paying overtime to cover walks and instead send out the people "finishing early" they will find that people will not cut the corners and finish far later on their own duties. I really think this is what the CWU think will happen. Royal mail will get a big shock when this happens and may well see the need to increase FT staff.
