Why? I think most would agree they are unnecessary when out on a walk...Himaggen wrote:Of course they breathe, they are loose fitting, have gaping holes for sleeves, a drop neck and placed over your eyes you can see well enough to negotiate a pavement. (although I wouldn't recommend it, its against Health & Safety)
If I had my way, the lads caught for a first offence of failing to wear one would be provided with a fluorescent pink one, to complement the trolley which they also refuse to use.

The people who agree with that are are blind or ignorant, the figures agree that the florescent colour alerts oncoming vehicles during daylight hours and the banding during low light. Over the period since their introduction accidents have been reduced and no increases have been noted of wearers suffering medically as a result of over heating.

The Download Article was very interesting, I especially liked the bit about Managers who are on a cycle duty should wear a Helmet!
Never seen one of the lazy bastards on a bike.
If you find the Hi-Vis a bit Hot stop doing the zip up!
I know this is a discussion Forum, and everyone's entitled to their point of view, but I think some people are just looking for something to get wound up about. FFS lads just put the kit on and get on with the job. I'd be more upset about moving to a 09.30 start and having a 5 hour delivery with a Collection tacked on the end!

You must be a DOM. If not you'd make a great one...Himaggen wrote:The people who agree with that are are blind or ignorant, the figures agree that the florescent colour alerts oncoming vehicles during daylight hours and the banding during low light. i speak from experience having worn them all day and they are noticeably/ clammy humid. your rm shirt is cotton not nylon for a reason.Himaggen wrote:Of course they breathe, they are loose fitting, have gaping holes for sleeves, a drop neck and placed over your eyes you can see well enough to negotiate a pavement. I see no mention of me saying it was an insult - I just pointed out the rules you agreed to and in this case broke. BTW what does calling someone a Manager/DOM actually add to the debate.....Syze wrote:So it's an insult to give my viewpoint?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Syze wrote:You must be a DOM. If it's not an insult what's the problem? It could have been a compliment. Maybe I just wanted to compliment a colleague.

You can manipulate figures to mean anything, and just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion doesn't make them blind or ignorant.Himaggen wrote:The people who agree with that are are blind or ignorant, the figures agree that the florescent colour alerts oncoming vehicles during daylight hours and the banding during low light. It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
