What would it be?? and Who are these people in the know the ones on full time duty release??
I did say it does not concern me whether you believe me or not , but the facts are clear and Royal Mail for the first time ever have opened their books to the union.
I belive you...but decamating our T & C hasn't exactly help has it.
You give a pretty good acount of the problem below.
What does it mean well as far as the union is concerned it means that the Government dids to take on the pension defecit , allow for Royal Mail to borrow money but its does not need to be privatised and then allow share holders to run down the company ever further and faster then this current bunch of industrial terrorists. In addtion there must be concessions made by post comm especially in the way of the head room access price. No company can be in a good postion if two thirds of its profitable mail has now via DSA missed the network and outward processing operations and then Royal Mail has to perfrom the most costly part of the work the USO which means that the cherry pickers TNT etc make a profit and Royal Mail depending on where the work is targeted struggle. So whilst a lot on here in deliveries state they are not losing work the reality is that the revenue Royal Mail now get for the work you are delivering is far less than previously meaning the delivery operation is more costly. No one is to blame apart from Post Comm and the previous Government in addtion the Governmment must not stop the post office subsidy otherwise there will be the biggest closures programme every for post office counters as they will not be included in the sell off.
Equally Royal Mail must honour the full terms of the national agreement. The delays in the programme are in the main Royal Mail`s fault as they wanted the upper decile linked to world class mails being the criteria for productivity and now have shared with the union at national level where they think offices are its based on density of houses/addresss for towns , cities and rurals.

Of course there are on going problems with regards to the IWT , the default postion of 100 bsi on iwt , delivery office closures and mail centre closures. But does anyone believe whether we had an agreement or not that we would not be dealing with all the above a lot weaker in the absecne of any protection.

No some of you point out that no government would allow the post office go to the wall , but do you really think that this government would not miss the opportunity to change dramatically how the industry is run and owned if it has to bail out the industry ? Do you really think that would be a good move for the workforce.

Equally the bravdo of those who say it does not concern them if Royal Mail runs out of money for even vrs or wages etc. I suggust you speak to someone who used to work for the Sun as warping how it feels .
Well why the f**k are things like bsi not included in ther agreement and NO we are not better off because YOU and the others in 'the know' decided to give away our T & C.
Whats the matter worried they may take your duty release off you after all!

The union has many voices cackhill...some of them speak for the members...some of them speak for themselves....and some of them have been peddling the same message for so long now they are starting to believe their own hype. Some of what is passed off as the truth..is often a twisted self-serving version....this is believe it or not...not aimed at anyone in particular.
Wearing a CWU badge does not in itself command respect and it never should...that has to be earned.
There are those i trust at HQ....and there are those i don't.

 If only I was a member of the CWU, perhaps I could swap allegiance and give Billy and Dave what they deserve :angel Still they probably have the cleanest arses in christendom as it is. :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Blind faith is just that.....blind.
At the same time being a proud member of the CWU shouldn't invite ridicule.
Yet that's how it often feels on this site and often that ridicule comes from people who seem to have a very tenuous grasp on reality.
Blind nihilism is just that......blind.

I don't see anyone ridiculed for being a member of the CWU clash...that's just playing with words to make an emotive statement.
And nihilism...i had to look it up FFS.
Who exactly has a tenuous grip on reality?...and who's vision of reality would that be?....yours...mine....the truth's?

A proud member.............

The "accepted" view on this site is "the CWU sold us down the river". "We had them by the balls and the CWU bottled it".
To go against this "accepted" wisdom brings with it vitriol and ridicule.
And Heaven forbid if you admit to having voted yes because you believe it was a good enough deal.
I can't find it now but Tamsky says in one of his recent posts that he was away for so long because he got tired of reading the anti-union tirades. To have such a reliable source of info missing for so long did nothing to improve this site for anyone.
And as for the tenuous grasp - it ranges from the "part-timers are getting shafted because f/t staff are getting a 39hr week and we're getting nothing" to the pointless "Billy and Dave took backhanders".

And as for you having to look up nihilism - I somehow doubt it but if you've learnt something tonight then RMC has fulfilled one of its functions I assume. :wave

And I have learned something too ccr - the fact that there are none so blind as cannot see.

I do not know whether it is the accepted view so much as the truth as I see it, that the CWU has reneged on its members.

Why, do you think you could have got more by staying on strike?

We could have got more if all parts of Royal Mail Group had stuck together and our professional union reps had nipped the breaking of agreements in the bud. Then there would have been no need to strike and risk turning the public against our shafted workmates in Letters.

Accepted by who Clash?....the great God of RMC?...the RMC commitee?
If you mean it is the view of the majority of those who post on RMC...that's a very different point indeed.
Now if certain posters left RMC because they didn't like what they were reading that's up to them..would you suggest censoring RMC to keep them onboard?...or banning other posters.
The thing about forums is that no-one can shout louder than anyone else...no-one's voice can go unheard...if you have a valid point to make you can make it knowing at the very least you will be able to finish your sentence.
If you really want to hear anti-union tirades you should pop down to my D.O. at the moment....you see this agreement is not quite turning out the way the union sold it to the members........and the comments being passed make this place look like a mother and toddlers group.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

managers pupet how so??
i didn't go on strike for unrestricted delivery spans, a pay cut and to walk at 3.71mph as opposed to 4mph.
i'm not the one doing mandaleson?(no longer in office) cameron and croziers?(at ITV) work for them. the truth has a good recent track record of it though.
'The union is the only voice we got' so, all critisim of the union must be surpressed???

Clash, i'm not critisising anyone for being a proud member of the CWU. i critisising senior figures who signed us up to a bag of s**t, twice! made no argument about our pension but blame us for their s**t deals!
