Included in the Letter to Members in Royal Mail Business Transformation 2010 And Beyond is contained the following lines:

You can also dowload a full copy of the agreement at cwu.org by clicking on the Royal Mail Business Transformation agreement link on the front page. Alternatively, you can obtain a copy of the agreement at your workplace.
"Today’s workplace has become heartless and soulless. Employees are seen as units of labour, automatons, functionaries, objects for achieving designated tasks, and as costs to be minimised."

I think it is bloody criminal that they are not taking the full responsibility of informing the Full Membership
on this Agreement what does the C in CWU mean (keep it clean)

Very good point made by Stormproof thou - makes you wonder that the negotiators never thought of that :arrrghhh

Iv'e just heard it's no longer the 2010 and beyond it's been re-issued as the 'mushroom agreement 2010' apperently the cwu wants every member to be in the dark

shocking that this agreement isn't available in large quantities for members who wish to read and digest it not just a cursory glance in the morning rush
also the fact that the cwu ,dave ward etc... see fit to push there agenda through with a dvd hardly democratic !!!

As i see it the union dvd should be stoped, the decision to no doubt put a biased slant on the agreement could be construed as a very devious misinterpretation of facts

i would just like to know who gets the final say in changes to an office? before people have just gone with a rep and manager sorting jobs out.

but now people are starting to panic cos they know the changes are going to be big. should there be some sort of vote in office?

also when we was briefed last week by union rep. the manager was answering the questions and when i asked about vans for park and loop e.t.c. he said no more vans/bikes. just more trolleys.

the rep didn,t even argue with him and say hang on a minute.

if this carries on in our office we will be shafted as we have new manager and i think he is out to prove a thing or two.

any answers would be great ./ HELP PLEASE.

Well the good news is ,only union members get to vote and decide on attendance patterns. So if there's only two union members in an office of 86 you can tell them if it's a four day week or 9day fortnight

When the menus and guidlines come out your rep will/should be having loads of branch meetings,he will/should report back to your office where you will/should discuss the options.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thats an interesting thought.... only the members of the CWU get to vote on local changes.

Is that how it works in reality?

Members only want be members when it suits them I have known members collude with management when it comes to overtime and the duty board for the next week!

There were agreements in the past in which no-one bothered with because it did not effect them.

No vote or yes vote..whatever,this deal/or no deal will require us all to get involved, and input.

I would like to think that all the "wrongs" in terms of duty structure and so forth can be put right. Make yourself heard. If you are on this forum then you obviously care and want the debate.

There are a huge amount of managers who really don't know anything, they only listen to "comms" past down in conference calls.

Counter act the information they have been given.9 times out of 10 it has not been agreed. Look up the agreement(s).

Tell your rep(s) to act as soon as possible.Managers NEED to be educated.

Yes,they will look at you as a pain in the arse. However, those who contribute on this forum would give them plenty of food for thought.

Try it...and back your rep up.If you haven't got one...then find one.
