Well exactly how soon? It seems to be taking a helluva long time to get to the ballot stage considering the cat has been out of the bag for nearly a month - has the three ringed circus not finished yet or have they run out of snake oil.

Perhaps they are hoping to take the steam out of things by the forthcoming elections - and I mean the important ones not the NEC.

Well presumably dvb we are waiting to see these performance standards in their full glory and of course the menu of attendance patterns......the new IR framework perhaps......templates for the revision process maybe.........or maybe even something to tackle management B&H....pass me my tin foil hat again matron.

I thought HQ was pushing a YES vote lovejoy it's the rank and file that want a NO vote - still I know age brings confusion - the leadership must have a combined age of more than 300 hundred.

To be honest I was merely pointing out that this vote more than others will be down to individual circumstances (how much do I lose etc).

Of course the national and branch recommendation make a difference because a lot of members look for guidance.

In fairness I was pointing out the branch recommedations were not everything on the basis that hardly any (in reality) will be recommending a no.

The reality of of the situation is that the overwhelming number of branches will/have recommended a yes and this will lead to a yes vote in the ballot - in my opinion

I think for a number of reasons (and some I don't buy into myself but each to their own) that this agreement will go through.

Apathy and laziness will play a big part in a YES vote. A lot will follow the recommendations of their branches because they can't be bothered to read the proposed agreement themselves even though it will have a massive effect on their future in RM.

Indeed, however the membership are 3 years wiser. Those that did vote yes in 2007(and wish they did not) will be looking at this proposal with a little more interest than before .

Agreed but in my opinion this is a better agreement than 2007 and negotiated against a completely different backdrop. Add those factors into your point (which is valid) and will the swing be big enough to return a no vote?.... I think not but the national membership will decide.

He's probably working on the assumption that RMC is primarily used by Militants, and therefore doesn't give an accurate view of what the membership as a whole want. Because in 2007, that was true. Although I think we have a much better cross section than we did then. We were all expecting a massive no vote. But we ended up with it being voted in. Hopefully, it won't happen this time.
