We haven't had an official union rep since the last one was sacked 3yrs ago. We have a guy who goes to meetings when he can and will help anyone fill out grievance forms or accompany you to conduct/attendance meetings. He has got more folk off than our last official rep but will not take the job on for 2 reasons - 1. He says he will not help any of the guys who come in early or use their own cars and a proper rep should represent anyone regardless of personal feelings. 2.He reckons its pointless taking the job on and arguing for things to change when these same folk are undermining him by doing what they do. it's a pity cos i reckon he's the sort of guy who would be able to run rings round our DOM if he had the back up.

Voted to stay, I am not happy with the deal. The only way to change things is to vote for new NEC representatives in the next election, it is time for change a the top.

WE are the union. I think that WE keep forgetting this fundamental fact. If WE as a majority think something is wrong, then WE as the union choose. Not our Reps.

From what I can see, the guys at the top have been getting the cream again. Not just in this industry but all of them. Yet again the little man loses. This is all being blamed on recession. WE need to spread the word that unity creates strength. If there is no union it is a free for all. WE WILL ALL struggle. Turning a blind eye is not an option to this one my friends.
