el_cartero,
If one thing, just one small, tiny, thing, can be gleaned from this piss-poor agreement, it's this.......It's in everybody's interests, full-timers, part-timers, everybody's interests, that postal workers vote no.
Not forgetting our colleagues working in mailcentres, they're futures are particularly bleak.
I didn't join this union to agree to unnecessary job losses, nor did I join so I could watch as the pampered union officials at the top, helped Royal Mail's equally useless senior executives, to whittle away our terms and conditions of employment to such an extent as to make this job we all do, unbearable, hated almost.
This job, this company, has been hurtling down the crapper at a rate of knots for the last seven years, time now for all postal workers to say, enough is enough.
ANNOUNCEMENT : ALL OF ROYAL MAIL'S EMPLOYMENT POLICIES (AGREEMENTS) AT A GLANCE (Updated 2021)... HERE
ANNOUNCEMENT : PLEASE BE AWARE WE ARE NOT ON FACEBOOK AT ALL!

coxie wrote:the trouble is el cartero you are the 1 on here that creates the divide between full time and part time, this deal is a poor deal for everyone even the full timers and believe it or not we are on the same side here, every full timer here has agreed that the pro rata payment is wrong for part timers, but you make it sound as though we have a good deal and part timers dont, we all have a bum deal here and the only way to get it thrown out is to get in the union and vote agaisnt it. Royal mail will stand by the pro rata payment and they will justify it by saying the £20.60 payment is nothing to do with door to doors its just an added allowance so we are all doing door to doors for free even though we know thats not the case.
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Was told today by Union rep that the £20.60 is not pro-rata for part-time staff
good if true but i'm not 100% sure he's right

"To coincide with the introduction of the national agreement unit payments will cease and the 3 items per week cap will be removed. D2D Monies will be turned into a delivery supplement paid 52 weeks a year for all delivery employees (OPG and ORR) pro rata for part time employees."

One can only hope that by part time staff they mean staff who only work one day a week or whatever
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Knowing RM as we do, it's bound to be anyone with less than 39hrs on thier contract ( remember the 1hr/week contracts in Wales & elsewhere? Condemmed as 'morally unjustifible' by some politician a year or two back, as the workers were frequently doing masses of OT, not getting OT till they done over 40hrs & only getting 1hr's holiday, sick & pension! That's the sort of attitude we get from RM - and they want a world where that is pefectly acceptable! )Acca Dacca wrote:One can only hope that by part time staff they mean staff who only work one day a week or whatever
