Dingo the more i hear about this "interim agreement" the more worried im getting What would happen if lets say the DSM in Leeds refuses to enter into serious discussions, but DSMs in London behave themselves and play ball who then goes on strike all of us or just leeds? There just seems too many grey areas and we know how RM love grey areas

As i ve posted before for me personally the only way suspending I/A was justifiable was if RM signed up to the proposals below

1) An immediate suspension of all unagreed lapsing/absorbing
2) An immediate closing of the outhouses/scab units
3) An immediate and independant review into bullying & harrassment
4) An immediate and independant review into workloads
5) A public guarantee from RM that they will go to acas to negotiate a new national agreement with the CWU

Now i dont think any of those requests are unreasonable, but we seem to have settled for something way short. To be honest it does seem like 2007 all over again

Wow....wasn't really expecting as much reponse to my original post as there was. Furthermore I wasn't expecting as many people to be in agreement with me. I guess we all feel let down, eh troops? Well the most of us.

I've read ALL the posts and still feel the same as the title of the thread.

Could someone perhaps answer these two questions for me please-

(1) How can we trust Royal Mail to play fair? This is the very same Royal Mail that had a secret document with all sorts of dirty tactics in it. The very same Royal Mail with managers that work for a bonus rather than the needs of the workforce. The very same Royal Mail where the managers bully, harass and intimidate the workforce into trying to work to the times and figures generated by a computer. The very same Royal Mail which quite frankly does not give a sh*t about it's workforce.

(2) I would love to know how the hierarchy of the CWU explain to Joe Bloggs what he has lost £1500+ for? As far as I can see, they have lost £1500+ to see the two sides have a 'chit chat'. A bloody expensive 'chit chat' so it is!

Before people start replying telling me that the 'interim agreement' is going to deal with all the problems and the bullying managers. I personally just think the 'interim agreement' in no way shape or form justifies a CWU member losing £1500+ in wages. If I was one of the people that had lost £1500+ in wages, I would be looking something a hell of a lot more concrete than a pathetic 'interim agreement'.

I think the above would of justified members having lost £1500+ in wages. Not a pathetic 'interim agreement'.

Why give them the breathing space not to play fair!? We had them in the palm of our hand! FFS! How hard is that to see!? You really think more strikes will be well supported? Members have already lost £1500+ for nothing. Why would they strike again? Seriously! Open your eyes!

The public were only just supporting our cause, they now see the strikes are over. That is all they see and read and that is all they want to see and read. You really think the public will support us again if we strike in the next few weeks? If you do then you really are in cuckoo land.

We had Royal Mail in the palm of our hands because they were struggling. We were making life hell for them. Businesses were threatening to take their business else where. So basically if the postie was going down the managers were going with us. They had to recruit 30,000 people to help clear the backlog. They were at breaking point! Christams would of broke them I think! Another big factor is we had public support! Not the business but the posties. Now you tell me how we didn't have them in the palm of our hand? We showed weakness and are going to be punished severely for it.

Also how do you explain what the man or women that has lost £1500+ has gained?

Why would they strike again? They have gained f**k all but a pathetic 'interim agreement'.
