Great reply. I must be a manager then, obviously.
I'm not furthering any argument, only asking for a sensible answer to my original post.
Which you are clearly unable to provide.
Shall I enhance my post with dancing bananas or animated images of hammers hitting people?

is it any wonder it's pro union, they have helped me in the past. anti management certainly from my point of view, they are a bunch of knuckle dragging bullies with no balls who are only capable of ensuring that sh1t continues to roll downhill. i have been lied to, harrassed, bullied and seen others on the recieving end of such treatment by people who's only motivation is greed [bonus]. i don't think it can be compared to work, we are on a level playing field here. you aren't face to face with a manager who will try to get you sacked if you are unwilling to do more and more for less. this is an anonymous forum, if you don't agree with someone tell them. if i said something stupid i would expect to be called a d1ck and would do the same to someone who i considered said something stupid. it is a forum for free speech and as we're all adults with strong opinions on things we believe in so expect adult language. unlike work it need not be a part of your life. i have had a good laugh, let off steam and recieved lots of good advice and information off here. good innit, i love it.
Agree with some of that, but if someone comes on for genuine advice and they don't toe the party line they are pretty much told where to go. Is this site, as it proclaims, a forum for postal workers...or just a mouthpiece for CWU militants?
If the former I would expect to get reasonable advice on if for say genuine reasons I was unable to take part in industrial action.
If the latter, I would expect to receive a fair amount of abuse for the same post. You look at the site, and tell me which you think it is.
By the way, I didn't strike in 2007 but I have done this time.
I don't believe the originally poster was asking for advice, but was instead intent on openly admitting why he feels it is not necessary to take strike action. Either he felt ashamed and needed to explain his actions, or he is stirring things up a bit in the hope that we will fall into your trap.
We posties do things differently, but we still get shot at!

What trap would that be? I asked a question which no-one has been able to answer yet.
Just in case you missed it the first time around here it is again:
Why, if B&H is one of the things the CWU is demanding to be stamped out, does so much of it go on on this site?

Maybe it would have been better to start a new post about bullying and harrasment on royalmailchat
rather than jumping into the middle of an already heated post about strikebreaking.

yes, I agree maybe it would have been. My Error, but seeing as this has rattled on for a few posts now, maybe the site moderators could split the thread up?

One chooses to put posts on here for debate.
You dont have a choice about having to go to work to be bullied.
Everday i see posts on news sites saying that we posties are lazy so and so and we should be happy to have a job is that also bullying and harrassment.

Good idea. I shall stick my head in the sand and pretend that nothing is happening with our postal service at the moment.

Great response!
And in answer to an earlier post, I did put my point up for debate. Debate here seems to consist of being called names, accusations of being a manager, being threatened, and being told to f**k off.
What more could I possibly ask of a debate?

We have fallen into your trap, mostly because your question is silly, and bears no relationship to what is going on in the real world. After all, this is a virtual forum, and nobody can be threatened with dismissal for not wanting to take extra work out that they'll know will take them well over their finishing time.
Bullying and harassment (on these forums), if that is what it is deemed to be, can easily be stamped out, whereas the real bullying and harassment that is being meted out by some of the Royal Mail management can't be easily dealt with. Perhaps, if the business really cared for 'its people', and didn't have to resort to this uncivilised behaviour, then we might (on these forums) be more compassionate towards each others' views.
The only people who are doing any bullying around here are those who are not willing to properly contribute something of worth, and who are more than likely just looking to start a fight.

The union have no power when people admit defeat and lay down, the fact that your unit rep went to work during an official strike is a disgrace and he should do the right thing and resign.
for you to say the union have no power is frankly laughable when you have already given up without a fight.

For the record I agree fully with this. If you are in the union, then you need to join with your colleagues and make your point.
Although, you should still be able to voice an opinion that you are not happy with the way the union is run. If this is the case then you should do something about it.
