I swear as long as I come across as someone with slightly more intellect than you I will be happy. This is a forum for discussion and debate and where else to air my misgivings on striking again than here on a *****in postie forum! I do have my doubts about the validity of the strike and the rewards it will bring (2007 being a prime example) and obviously concerned about the loss of wages...and you can't say I'm the only one?
What I did not expect is to be called a c*nt and compared to the scrapings from your shoes, even if it was funny. My last word, apologies for having the nerve to be open about such a contentious issue.

What did the enlightened postie quote? To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing... He got that so right.

ps: You'll be calling me a 'strike breaker' next !

Oh i nearly fogot :d'oh!
Ogg dont do it mate  as most of the guys have said its all about your self respect and knowing deep down that to cross a picket line while your mates and colleagues are on it fighting for our futures is wrong and is something you will have to live with for the rest of your life.Theres still time to change your mind and do the right thing by not crossing the picket and standing side by side with your colleagues.Unity is strength.

Lets stop the excuses folks as there are none for strike breakers simple as.

Im in a dire finacial state at present with xmas approaching bills to pay two teenage kids but the excuse really do have to stop when people try to justify there actions on strike breaking .

Dont forget you still have to work with the strike breakers the day we return from striking are you going to be all pally pally with them and ask them how there working day was yesterday.

How can these people look you in the eyes shame on you strike breakers your excuses will not cut it with me.

I really do hope each unit rep makes a note of everyone that crosses the picket line then the folowing day ha a private chat with each one informing them that they will not represent them anymore and they will be sending there name soff to H/Q to have them booted outthe union.

Its selfish and disgusts me that people will cross the picket line we do all the fighting and what ever we get out of this dispute you will reap the rewards THANKS .

My office will be a 100% out no strike breakers.

Strike breakers do the honourable thing and leave cease your membership with the CWU before next week thats the least you could do.

Well said, we have a union member in our office blatantly shouting from the roof tops that he can't wait to wave his wage packet in the strikers faces, and can't wait to get stuck into all the overtime after any strike days, i asked our rep whether he could be removed from the union....he said it would be illegal.

I hope the next time this guy needs representation (which he will), the union rep stitches him up!

You could try asking about in your office ... you don't lose pay and others get the 'day off'. Not perfect but better than going it alone.

I'm hoping our office is going to be 100% this time, back in 2003 when someone crossed the picket line,
there life was made a misery for 2 years
in 2007 our office was 100% out :dance

Think very hard before you cross the line :hmmmm

i'm from the north west. i voted for ia and even if i didn't vote yes i would go with the democratic descision and strike. look in a dictionary and see what the word UNION means. your comment is straight from the dims mouth " why go on strike ? this is all about london, it's nothing to do with us" we have all been shat on from a great height, come on own up which one of the two categories are you ? dim, middle aged, bald, overweight, who's wife buys his smart managerial attire from george of asda. who couldn't carry a 16 kilo bag even if his dinner was in it. or young, fake calvin kline eau de toilette, hair gell, spots, who has never done a hard days work yet, decked out with all the latest fashions from top man. diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim
It's life Jim but not as we know it

it doesnt look like its a decision you have taken lightly, i just hope theres room to reconsider. This is something you will have to live with forever and will forever be known at work as a scab. Youl could end up regretting crossing the line big time, you feel feel so uncomfortable at work and you will also be showing the managers they have you in their pocket.

Ogg , Im alittle amazed by your posting. With you being an ex union rep you should know why a picket line must not be crossed! SOLIDARITY my friend is a sacrifice one takes.

I can understand people crossing the picketline because of a high mortgage, bratz that are spoilt, nice fancy car and maybe a mistress on the side. Why don't you just stab your collegue in the back.
I'll probably strike to begin with but after the year my view could change. My career is coming to a end next year and i came back to get money for uni. Hopefully i'll be one of the last strikers going back when in 1 weeks time, 2 weeks or 1 month its a all out strike, its coming, start saving. xmas post, not this year.
