Hello,
I know we use cars to finish earlier and save returning to our office, but what if someone bumped stole or torched the car?
You have no car for work, family use etc, unless your insurance covers a courtesy car.( does the royal mail insurance do this?)
Personally i would say Work to rule use the van or drop off and collect system and save your wear and tear and minimise the chance of some plick jeopardising your vehicle, remember the criminal will think "oh yes a car with letters in it ideal opprtunity to make a couple of quid", we have had it down here a few times. i know this is a bit upbeat for my second post but i tell all our drivers the same.

AT THE MOMENT I USE MY CAR FOR DELIVERY, FOR THE SAME REASON AS EVERYONE ELSE FOR YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE BUT WHAT WITH THESE LATER START TIMES COMING IN ( SORRY IF THEY COME IN ) THEN I AM GOING TO LEAVE IT HOME BECAUSE AT THE MOMENT WE PARK OUR CARS OUT ON THE ROAD ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES BECAUSE THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO PARK, IT IS SAFE AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE WE ARE OUT OF THE OFFICE BY THE TIME TRAFFIC WARDENS GET TO WHERE OUR OFFICE IS, BUT WITH THE LATER START TIMES AND GOING OUT ON YOUR WALK LATER WE ARE ALL GOING TO GET A PARKING TICKET.
NOT SOUNDING THICK OR ANYTHING BECAUSE ITS A WASTE OF TIME ASKING OUR MANAGERS BUT DO WE STILL GET PAID BUS FARES.

phil mate, It's RMs responsibility to get you to and from your duty. What would you do if you didn't have a car? In my office we all should be delivered to our walk by Vans.
Take a look at the 'On the vans' thread-----------KAWAK

AT THE MOMENT I USE MY CAR TO GET TO THE OFFICE AND THEN TO GET ME TO MY WALK IN THE MORNING BUT HAS I SAID WE PARK ON THE ROAD OUTSIDE ON DOUBLE YELLOWS AT THE MO BUT WITH LATER START TIMES THE TRAFFIC WARDENS WILL BE OUT AND ABOUT AND SO THE REASON FOR LEAVING MY CAR AT HOME IS THAT THERE IS NO WHERE TO LEAVE MY CAR LEGALLY WHILST ON MY WALK.
