Parcels should be prioritised. They make money, letters are worth very little. If you all want a job in the future, this is how it should be.
:d'oh! If there was no mail thousands of jobs will go - no job for you in the future :wave
I didn’t say no mail? I said prioritise parcels and do mail when we are able to, like we are.

5.6 billion letters a year.
Like to see the breakdown of that figure because I'm definitely seen a noticeable decline in letters over the last few years.

I'm guessing D2D contracts are included in that figure

Nor that all posties are taking letters with the parcels, DPR's never do and if we're asked to do two duties Tracked & QC we simply don't have the time to take any other letters, which are most likely not been prepped anyway.
We take plenty of 1st class letters out that have been scanned to our routes at my DO

Ist class are not all a customers letters, no doubt all their 2c and flats are still left in the frames, or in trays under the frames waiting to be prepped? DK suggested the figures indicate service is not declining but how are those figures produced, as service has declined in our DO in the last year or so and we're usually one of the better run and staffed DO's locally.

That owner was a lot less convincing than Simon Thompson. At least his bull could've been believable. Today he absolutely embarrassed himself

Not even scratching the surface when some 2nd class letters are sometimes turning up at delivery offices 2 days or more after they are franked.

I think he waffled his way through it all quite well, he wasn't pinned down as much as Thompson was. Denied there was an overtime ban, denied there was a policy of prioritising parcels apart from H&S reasons. Data, data, data. WTF was the Russian gas issue all about? Bet he loved diverting the committe onto that. Reiterated implementation of the adjustment to USO is needed. Was there any conclusion to this hearing - no. Successful result for RM.

Ward and Walsh - waved a printout of a pyramid of priority. Smashed it!

By the time DK had finished I couldn't recall anything of substance they said.

Near to the end.

It all looked quite comfortable for Mr. Kretinsky.

Same at ours — the DPRs sweep up the 1C on a daily basis.

Yes, I thought so too. He seemed quite at home in the committee room.

we haven't had an overtime ban, nor any other in d/o nearby who i've spoken to,
it has however been cut from 1hr early starts all week to maybe wed-sat 30mins and only a few have worked days off, depending on budget even if their duty doesn't go out but were willing to work.
they phrased it wrong by using the word "ban" rather than "cuts" so technically they didn't lie yesterday
