Since our revision October 2024 I opted for a rural duty nine day fortnight mon to Friday 15.50 finish sat 15.10 finish although the duty has only been completed 5 times in 7 months the extra days off suit me the other 2 rural duties work all their days off which suits them financially luckily the area I work in the finish time for everybody else is no later than 14.50.

I could see our office voting in 2/5 rotation.
Finishing times would prolly be 4pm town and 4:30pm rural.
Scotland is a mess with times though.
Really needs looked at. To get our start times earlier.
I work in England, and our long days (Wednesday and Thursday) are already a 4.30pm finish for both town and rurals, 3.50pm on a Saturday.
Out of interest what are the attendance lengths on those days ?
We start at 8.30am every day of the week, so 8 hours on Wednesday and Thursday.

This change will go live from 7 July 2025
That tracks - workplace coaches were being briefed this morning.

So we're only allowed to pick from 3 when the time comes.
Old 1/6.
2/5.
2/6.
1 in 6 should be invalidated as this whole mess is being sold to us on having more Saturdays off. Otherwise, what the f**k are we getting out of this? The 2010 agreement was supposed to yield more Saturdays off!
The machine stops.

Fantastic isn't it.

From 7 choices, down to a mere 2 depending on your current start times and number of driving staff.

It's a sham. Name one agreement/decision made by the CWU that is in any way not detrimental to our jobs?

Changes will be effective from 7 July 2025, or the date Ofcom agrees changes to the Universal Service Obligation, whichever is later.
So they're now trying to push OFCOM in to a rapid response !!! Come on OFCOM drag your heels as usual and annoy them :whistle :whistle
I thought Ofcom had not decided on anything (stand to be corrected) - but they seem to think it's a done deal ready to go.

We were told this morning it's happening this summer. Our office has apparently been selected for the first wave in early September. Yay. Not since Friedrich Paulus was made a field marshal has there been such an honour.

Unless they can select which walks it'll apply to, it'll end up going live for the mech everywhere at the same time, once they roll the software update to all CSS machines. We'll start sending the manual letters and flats with 1C and everything else in separate trays, all them trays will go onto the same yorks and then get sent out as normal.

What will they be classing mail that's come from outside of the UK as? If they class it as 2C then non-2C days you're going to basically have f**k all letters and flats.

That seems to have been the plan since day one.

More time for more Tracked!

I neglected to say in my previous post, we were told:
  • there will be no revision
  • the trials have been "mixed"
Still, full steam ahead.

Surely that's the plan? I doubt any time has been been built into the parcel delivery duties to also delivery 1c mail.
