But the MAIN THING!!
It’s reduced the time to deliver each parcel from aprox 2 mins 25 secs to
1 min 45 secs
But they won’t tell you that
That's nearly 35 drops per hour.
Impossible to do.

Sounds truly awful. Also why are the shifts starting so late?
The LAT’s can be chucked at them as well plus can double shift a van.

No that’s not including driving time - it’s the time they’re allowing us from pulling up to pulling away

And anyone who says it takes 15 mins to load 130 parcels out of order onto the van obviously ain’t doing it -
Maybe reread what I posted before shooting from the hip, pal.

I mentioned 15 minutes when referring to how long it takes to rearrange drops on a draft manifest on the PDA, not how long it takes to load the van itself.

You'd think RM would have it where you select an option and then scan the parcels in the order that you're going to deliver them in, updating the manifest automatically at the end

Sounds like a disaster. People might be heading to bed by the back end of that shift, porches might be locked and you won’t want to go skuttling around someone’s garden looking for a storage box in the dark.

Sorry didn’t even see your post
I was talking about our managers in our office
Our main manager actually said “my wife says it can be done in about 15-20 mins “!

Ah, apologies for getting my knickers in a twist. Yes, some managers have some silly ideas, no doubt about that!

Did you ask why she doesn't work there?

Seriously it’s been a struggle - all of us want/need it to work otherwise we won’t have a job!
But there’s been Absolutely zero communication from management AND the unions - we haven’t even got representation in DPs.
Signed duties taken off people overnight with no knowledge - even now we don’t know about resigns!
Seeing people 25 years in with spotless service being suspended - others so stressed they’ve had time off
There have been 100s of failures daily - one day over 700
The hardest things to take is the company honestly believing that we dont want it to work (zero trust in us)
And the unions not being available on site to help us with the changes
It was they who agreed all the changes etc but haven’t been there to help, train, or support us at all
But hey hoe

How do you inform a Line Manager via the RM PDA that you will not complete allocated delivery's ?
My personal phone is just that and not for RM use and anything regarding work I want in writing.

The PDA will show you your finish time before you even leave the office.

Is your manager's number listed in the phone numbers on the PDA? That's the only way you can advise them once you're out if you insist you don't want to use your own mobile phone. Really you should advise a manager before you go out that you might not be able to complete.

I know what you say about using your personal phone for work, but sometimes you have to know which battles are worth fighting and which are not.

I get the stress involved here, but don't DPR drivers have a start time and finish time like everyone else?

Do what you can in your time, anything else doesn't get done and it's then RM's problem.

Or am I missing something?
