We have no second wave mech but it arrives on the first lorry to be done on the IPS.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

You had cuts to staffing or is it just a case of "f**k it next level below is cancelled deal with it" pick oneSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑15 Nov 2024, 07:12Probably the CSS is running over and has missed the wave 1 dispatch. Is the tiny bundle of sequenced and the rest wave 1 or wave 2? Wave 2 is meant to be walk sort only.
Some mech misses the cut-off point to be sorted on the iLSMs/IMPs to batch level and so just gets sorted to office level only

Not quite - it's illegal for the employer not to let you take the break you are entitled to. It's up to you to take it and if you don't any subsequentPlaymail wrote: ↑15 Nov 2024, 07:34Remember it's illegal to work 6 hours without a uninterrupted 20 mins breakfadetogrey63 wrote: ↑14 Nov 2024, 15:32This is really causing friction at our office.. consequences that may occur if you have an accident could be your responsibility.
If it was illegal to work 6 hours without an uninterrupted break about 2/3 of our office are breaking the law.

Those on the newer contracts are not being paid a break so if it were me I would scan in and then go and have a break for the first 20 minutes.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I've never had a break since I started in July, I've always done the same hours as those on the old contracts, but now they have implemented the extra 20mins i may start and take it,

CWU talks more bs than chubby brown. I left the union after the last sell out deal, but can't wait for this deal to run out next year and dodgy dave and his minions telling us we have to strike. He can go f*** himself. Pardon the french.

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
We had a lovely note left on frames today reminding us of the new hours from Monday.
Along with a list of a few other things..
Nobody is to Scan in more than 5 minutes early
If late have to inform the Manager even by a minute.
If you are back before your finish time ( Minus 20min break) you have to go and ask for more work and only then will be allowed to leave.
These will be highly monitored.
Really is like being back at School
Not as if many will be getting back early leading up to Xmas but lots in our office are few up with our new Managers and the way they speak to us and unlike most Xmas where happy to go over on delivery this yr just going to cut off and bring it back.
Especially with the Later starts
Going to be a fun 5 weeks

"allowed to leave early" sounds like you're back at school not being paid to work, nobody leaves our DO early now we use SISO.Thegrinch wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 21:51We had a lovely note left on frames today reminding us of the new hours from Monday.

Was told today if I wanted a break it would be a 20 mins extra on top of the extra 20 mins early starts.. they are saying the 20 mins earlier start is part of my working hours and does not Inc break..

How is it like ‘being back at school’ being made to work for every hour you are paid? Welcome to the real world.

You're obviously on a new shite contract mate. I don't know too much about them but get some guidance fron someone who does. I'm sure you're still entitled to a Break , as part of your working day, NOT tacked on the end! These Managers love to BS new staff especially to get FREE work out of them.
Once you know how long you're entitled to make sure you take it every day. All those days you weren't taking it you were just working for FREE for RM. Don't do it mate you need the breather .

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
This is the trouble DP. Nobody really knows to the minutest degree how these contracts work with breaks. Do managers automatically deduct a minimum 20/30 minutes break even if it's not been taken?Dorset Plodder wrote: ↑17 Nov 2024, 09:27You're obviously on a new shite contract mate. How many of the new contract peeps check their monthly pay statement to work out whether it's being deducted (or not)
and keep an accurate record of what OT they've worked and when it get input onto PSP? And if it doesn't make the cut off do they check to
make sure it's paid the next month?
Do they just get fobbed off when they ask their manager?

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
I did learn something chatting to a New Lad. He gets paid MONTHLY. I thought that was a receipe for truly screwing up his OT payments. Most Managers can't accuraetly record a week's OT.
When I suggested he keeps a note of Daily OT he said he uses his phone (good idea). I also discovered although the OT is paid MONTHLY you can check it on a weekly basis to ensure it's been recorded accurately.
Also discovered the DIM can program the SISO so that it ''Allows'' for staff to leave the building 20 mins before the end of their contracted time ... to account for taking 20 mins MR at the end of the day!
Whether they do or not who knows? We've had people sat around in the rest room waiting for the correct time.... obviously not Managers.
I'm also told they don't get the Delivery Supplement so we've had a problem with them refusing to Prep Households when they cover a Duty. Fair Enough I suppose. I think the CWU should prioritise getting them onto the same contracts as the rest of us, I know they've made the statements but it needs to happen. If RM are sticking to these shite contracts perhaps it should ONLY be for a Probationary Period?

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
The big question is, when pay gets linked to SISO data (it's when not if that'll happen) will it go purely on the times that you scanned in and out?Dorset Plodder wrote: ↑17 Nov 2024, 10:08Also discovered the DIM can program the SISO so that it ''Allows'' for staff to leave the building 20 mins before the end of their contracted time ... to account for taking 20 mins MR at the end of the day!![]()
