Has this been mentioned since people went back?
What you on about was the response I got.
Terry and co also seem to have gone quiet, apart from the extra hire vans disappearing, as was expected anyway, it seems business as normal at our DO.
They and senior management will more than likely be on holiday until Tuesday, probably even the Monday after.

I'm expecting to see all the hire trucks that we had for Xmas pressure disappear over the next week or so, probably the week after next due to the holidays

There'll be two options:

1) The DO sends a van to the MC to collect them
2) The LAT stuff arrives in time to be processed and go out on the final dispatch (06:15)

We done away with wave 3 probably a couple of years ago now

Thats the problem! I do option 1 daily. With no hire van I cant drive to the MC to collect them.

Had anyone in RM actually thought about buying some more vans, just a thought.

Probably got no wear to put them. My old office got rid of the staff car park to park vans and there still isn’t enough room. My new office quite a few take there van home as there isn’t enough room to park them up.

Put some new buildings on the shopping list as well then. They are alway beating the drum about keeping up with Amazon etc, I wonder if they suffer with these issues?

out of a turnover of just over 20 Billion UK Pounds, Amazon only paid 0.37% corporation tax. Not sure of the RM figure but it must be higher. With staff on zero hours contracts and self employed people who they dont have to pay any SSP or pension for etc, their creative accoubtants can use a lot more of the annual turnover to reinvest into tax subsidised Capital Investment Programmes.

Simon, Ricky et all still pushing out the "DOMS AND REPS DECIDE" mantra, which is obviously falling on deaf ears with upper management!
Funny as feck on Workplace.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don’t see the relevance, RM would also get tax breaks on investment.

Doms and Reps make the decision

So on NYE our rep was informed that tv our agency two agency staff would not be coming back in 2022, one has been in our office for 18 months. Also he was told two vacancies that were promised to be advertised in January is now highly unlikely.

Dom was in agreement with Rep that these decisions were absolutely ridiculous but DOM told by his senior that nothing can be done.

Therefore this Doms & Reps decide bollox is utterly false and basically a PR Statement from Royal Mail to try and appease.

There is no real agreement to do with agency staff, but with new recruits promised and now discarded the Rep has been told to use the IR Framework to lodge disagreement

The new stance seems like the goal posts are changing here before our eyes. Our unit failed 75% walks on NYE now with no agency, no new recruits management are letting us know they are happy to plan to fail.
USO is obviously not worth the investment.

This month we will have many staff on holidays, plus covid absences, plus sick leave.. so things are not looking to get better anytime soon

Heres to 2022 :dance

"I think as it stands, this uncertainty means we are currently expecting our workload to sharply step down in the next quarter"

From Simon's latest RMTV NYD broadcast, I assume that explains the cuts, but can anybody really believe the general public will suddenly stop using mail order this quarter, I can't see it myself customers seem firmly in the habit of doing internet shopping.

Internet shopping is here to stay, it'll never go away, just get busier and busier.

I expect it to be busy this month with people trading clothes for different sizes from what they got in Xmas presents, returning Xmas presents they hated and buying stuff with money they got for Xmas
