Had/having shite day today WSM went down after first wave didn't get last of my mech till 09:30 fast forward to 15:15 i finally get done,get out of office jump in my motor brum brum *thud* looked under bonnet and one of belts has snapped fearing its cam/timing belt i just left it not doubt this is gonna cost me a fair of chunk of my pay

Luckily I had just collected from a service and they hadn't changed the belts as they should have done - £2k it cost them because of the secondary damage.

Found out this morning that I wasn't the only 1 to lose a tyre yesterday. 4 of us in the same office.

Two really heavy days again this week. Hammered with packets and recorded items. Things don't look too clever and I think people are getting a bit restless.

Yesterday was great, today will be great, Wed Thur Fri and Sat will be fantastic also ............. annual leave

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

not sure if this is the correct place for this but am first time poster so advice would be greatly recieved!!!
been a postie for 13 years, tomorrow we are starting 'summer savings' which means an extra road to be delivered after my own full delivery. i have no problem with doing this if i can do it before the end of my contracted hours. however we are expected to do it even if we are over our time. also we have taken on an extra road each on mondays and tuesdays all year round and were told we wouldnt have to do it monday to friday during the summer but alas here we are being made to take 'extra' from tomorrow.
the union is not the strongest in our office and would like to know where i stand,
i always deliver my extra road on mondays and tuesdays whether i go over or not. i do not claim if it takes me over time.
all i really want to know is what trouble can i get into if i refuse to work over my time?
i have mentioned this to 2 managers and both said u will have the time and walked off.
do other offices even have summer savings anymore?

In real terms and in the Pay & Mod agreement (
)you should only lapse/absorb if you have time within your duty time.But agreements are worth s**t to RM and if your office is weak then you may need to go to your area rep for help.

Beginning to chill out as I'm on leave for over a week. Will be going down to Paignton for a few days to catch up with some family. Whilst I'm there I might as well indulge in my favourite hobby. Real ale.
