Well today was the calm before the storm as our bank is stacked with yorks of flats for the rest of the week. However thats tommorrow
I had about 3/4 of the load that i was expected to cope with on sat and just ONE packet bag for the first time in about 10 days
What made todays nice was the weather
It started fresh and a touch chilly and i was out at 8.40am in just a shirt. It was one of those mornings when some house's are in the bright sunshine and others still in shadow. When you walk into the patches of the morning sun its really warm and uplifting and then back into the cool shade which is totally refreshing before the cycle repeates again, i love mornings like that on delivery
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Why?
What comes in must go out surely?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No, MS3 and DSA get left until there is time to do them (or until they panic at the end of the week).
Who made that rule up?
No idea but they roll dsa and mailsort all the time at our office

Trouble is since the revision we have a stack of deliveries now taking 4hrs + to complete. If you take my delivery for example its the old delivery + a 45 min road on top so its like a big slice of lapse. On a week day its fair enough as it uses my working time but on a sat i have 2 hours less but pretty much the same amount of work which can not always be completed without OT.
They are not always keen on paying OT so we get told to stream the mail which starts with 2nd class and then moves on to dsa which quite often is left in the frame on certain rural walks.
If it looks meaty from the outset they will leave dsa flats till monday.

In an ideal world maybe, but who works in one of them ?

But if it's a regular thing then it needs to be noted and dare i say it flagged to both RM and CWU areas.
How hard is it to keep a diary.

Am on a different walk every day and have cut off every day so far this week. By the time I get out I'm already an hour into my duty, and by the time I've cycled there and back, I've lost another forty minutes. Take off my half an hour break and time for stopping to collect bags and I'm in effect being given two hours and forty minutes to complete three and a half hour walks - none of which I know. It doesn't bother me but it's stupid on the behalf of management to do these things.
In a word "HEAVY" with more Viking and Saga mags. Booked an hour OT
