You do all realise that there is a 'invisible bubble' around each office that logs your pdas in and out and this is what is being monitored. You can be inside your office for an hour scan the consolidation code an hour after you get in but the finish time it will show is when you entered your offices invisible bubble.

It's probably a set of GPS coordinates for the DO and probably anything within a certain radius of them coordinates are deemed to be in the office

What then are the cables they recently laid across the entrance to the DO?

They are normally above the door.
I thought these cables were related to the PDA and triggered the texts to customers that their packet will be delivered in the next 4 hours.
I could be wrong.
It might be they are installing cable TV for the staff on afternoon SA.

Are these new cables above a pedestrian door, loading bay door, the pedestrian entrance to the site or the road entrance to the site?

That's where the management should earn their money. If nobody is claiming any overtime in the office that includes people working their day off, then walks should go and be absorbed by the rest of the office. I doubt that is the case though.
More likely some walks are too big, some too small and lots of ghost overtime runs the office.
There shouldn't be a situation where half the office is claiming and half are going home early, that doesn't make sense. Bad management, it's like when they get someone who they know will be late, to prep up someone's walk who they know will be early and really doesn't need the prep. It happens.

Given such a crackdown on getting the full contracted hours out of full-time staff, it seems inevitable to me that there’ll be a lot less overtime for us part-timers soon. Yet I wonder how they’ll work it out in practice. Four hours isn’t enough time for any delivery to be completed, even with the fantasy of everything being bagged and ready to go, and that’s only going to become more emphatically clear as the parcel situation changes and loops are added. The only thing that would make some sort of sense is a 3/4 day week, but whatever they go for, no OT means that a lot of part-time staff would leave - it’s not even like they’d have fixed days and a realistic chance of working a second job.
