Managers know what's going on, they just ignore it as long as the work is being completed
Why does it matter to you all if now you save any time it is not yours but royalmail's to do what they will with ie cut job's even your own!. Maybe we all think we can be manager's but how many will be needed when we all work to our time!. WHAT IS THE RUSH TO THE DOLE QUEUE FOR!?.

If the manager's doing his job properly, people who avoid doing their share of work will be weeded out during their trial period. You get lazy people everywhere though, not just in RM, and they're a problem. They are the ones responsible for the management's desire to track all workers....

I am afraid that divide and conquer is a natural tactic for People, firms or Organisations who perceive a them and us situation. Despite the outcome of the ballot, I genuinely believe that RM hierarchy were surprised a both the level of support for the strike, and the solidarity that was shown nationwide. Also don't forget the wild cats in London, Yorkshire, Liverpool and Scotland all these helped Royal Mail to perhaps view the Union at grass roots level, as a force to be reckoned with and therefore to be tamed somewhat. Also must not forget the Burslem posties as they showed Royal Mail that if they want to go down this route they will have a fair bit of resistance to contend with.

However, under the agreement are they not meant to be trying to stop the confrontational attitude and work with the union.

It was stated years ago in a rare moment of honesty according to the BBC site :-"Some of our managers have a command & ignore policy , they lack the people and motivational skills to bring our teams forward -Some will have to be retrained , if that doesn't work they'll have to be paid up ". The next statement was infamous two thirds of our managers are either average/below average , that was from Crozier at the Business Insider Do .

Royal Mail 's got the same problems as anywhere else only to extremes .

I've been down that road in another service , a mate of mine resigned and went to Ruskin College as he was sick of constant trench warfare . RM were spoiling for a fight and wanted to break the CWU , however RM's arrogance usually is it's weakest link .
