If the 6 hour deliveries get brought in with the collection bolted on the end then there'll be no going over time for anyone in deliveries as collections are timed. All those that finish well early will have to be sent out again to help out with walks that are struggling

Our office already has a banking of hours agreement and it works very well.

Most of us simply work to our time and leave any work that we have agreed that we can't deliver for the managers to do. It stops the runners from getting back early (because there is extra work to do) and provides the DOM with a nice little bonus because the managers are keeping the office overtime down. Its not uncommon to see the management team out delivering post after 4pm when we are sat at home with our feet up :nana
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I am surprised they let you leave your work behind.

Maybe its because our duties are already massive since the last revision. We have argued that we need another duty made up and put back into the section but the DIM will never do that because some staff will finish early on a Monday or Tuesday. I suspect that they would rather give hours to part-time posties as ad-hoc 'overtime' rather than making any part-timer up to full-time.

This would WITHOUT A DOUBT be better for the postie, slowing down makes a safer environment!
