Considering our mail centre very rarely sends the mail with the correct labels I am worried that they think they could sequence all mail!

''THOUSANDS'' will go. our area rep already said about a year ago, RMs vision is there is currently 68000 deliveries nationally. they want this reduced to 43000. a drop of 25000 jobs. which is why it would be insane for the union to agree, which would need a ballot anyways. who's going to vote for it? it would also spell the death knell for the union to lose so many members.....wont happen.
That's gonna be a helluva lot of automation there as they can't even get the workload done now with the staff we have let alone cutting by that many!

Might be worth asking whoever deals with updates to A+ in your DO if the A+ is kept up to date

Add to fact most of the newer staff seem to get all the duties that are over 5 hours. If anything we'll be doing less work than we're doing currently. Royal mail is in for a fright in my opinion. I don't think they have any idea how badly designed most walks/ offices really are.
That the planners they haven't a scoppey doo, we had one at our office last year he planned one job, splitting jobs up so streets that are right next door to each other, are done by different walks , the fitting are all wrong fine if u are familiar with the jobs, loops are to long. Still some jobs to big, one job that was big anyway they maid even bigger.

just quick questions to answer=42.... if people have been kicked off their duties what did union have to say? ...if duties have been permanently collapsed to give some staff extra hours, what has happened to the staff that did those duties?
Sadly no one has kicked off. It's basically if you don't want to do it there is someone who will. I think there should have been a re-pick but apparently because less than than a third of walks have been affected there is no need. The union rep has been part of the reorganisation of the walks, re-doing the frames and sequencing etc. Displaced walk holders have been either put on vacant walks or gone spare. As I type this I can't quite believe it's actually happening, but it is. As far as I know the area rep is aware but no one has said boo to a goose. WTF???????? :coolr

This might be a bad move in your office because keeping the staff motivated and happy is usually key to productivity and quality. Which apart from health & safety, are the two most important things in the company.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If everyone used the golf trolleys and followed all the rules the existing deliveries would be much longer for starters. I couldn't do 6 hour deliveries - just not physically sustainable.

On occasional heavy days We do a delivery 5-5.5hrs with a quick pace so a 6 hrs steady is just around the corner but every day would not be sustainable..Royal Mail would need a much younger and fitter work force who have night vision.
Could be named RoboPostie.
