Finished last Christmas in the dark a few times .If I leave the office at 10 am or later there will be plenty of breaking off to get the Specials done ...time wasted

If you able to dance you must be a younger, newer postman  or work in London  .

Higher likelihood of parents of young kids not being in, because they are collecting kids from school mid afternoon.

At the weekend, more people will be out making use of their day off, not waiting for their parcel(s).

Less people around for DTN.

Longer travelling times for OPGs to/from work.

OPGs that will have "family friendly" because they have their own kids to pick up.

More delivery time in the dark during Xmas pressure, as it gets colder.

etc. etc.
Special Deliveries, which some years back changed from Noon to 1pm, would surely be put back to 2pm  but without any reduction in price for a poorer service.

I dance on Friday/Saturday and sometimes once in midweek and am 42 years old and been in job for 9 years. But I am finding it harder and harder, but I am address it by losing weight to make sure I can cope with both. (lost 7kgs in 3 weeks so far) and aiming to lose another 14kgs or thereabout.

What do you do in your duty hours?
Full timers start at 8pm and start doing primary sorting. We part timers start at 8.50 and continue with primary if full timers have not completed and then sort parcels.
Next is throwing in D2ds, walksort, flats etc, redirections, kill offs and then bagging up. 20 mins break, load van and off delivering approx 10.45/11am. Five hour delivery, P739s back to local Post Office and then back to DO, 20 mins break at the end if not taken during delivery.
Is that a complete prep starting with an empty frame?

8.50 to 16.40 x 5 days = 39 hours and 10 mins,so how can you be part time? Or do you only work 2 or 3 days a week?

Not heard from the CWU yet, but no surprise if they try to sell it to us as a good thing, just like adding collections to deliveries.
