This the final extension, get a grip FFS, just read the statement , I`m also fairly sure a new strike date will be announced before next Wednesday to put pressure on RM to get a deal sorted.

Re: Talks extended for another week.
Since our farce of a revision came in,well over 2 years now,the men have a lot of anger towards RM and are spoiling for a strike. Some of this is now being aimed at the union as they feel the outcome UNBELIEVABLY will be the same as 2010

And at this particular moment, a rather foul smelling one. (really old pun, sorry)

Re: Talks extended for another week.
Seems to me that the CWU wanted the extension as they would have had to call for a strike on Wednesday 27th and they see Monday as a better day to take action.
They will meet on Monday and announce intended strike action for Monday 2nd Dec.
I personally think that if it was at all possible an hours industrial action each day at the end of the individuals shift would have more impact than a day here and a day there.
The place would start of in a bit of a mess and would slowly snowball whilst they failed to reach an agreement. Plus Royal Mail wouldn't be able to flood mail centres with agency staff the day after action.

After the "deal of the century" that was voted in in 2010, I dread to think what we'll end up with this time.

Re: Talks extended for another week.
This deal isn't introducing new working practices like BT2010 though, this is primarily an agreement on pay,on protecting terms and conditions going forward and resolving outstanding issues so there shouldn't be anything frightening in it.dubdaz wrote:After the "deal of the century" that was voted in in 2010, I dread to think what we'll end up with this time.
The only question might be how much real protecting and resolving is actually going on and how much of it is just bluster and bullshit from the same management that brought you the last 3 years of mayhem.

The deal might not introduce new working practices/ However, there will be new working practices as a result of:

What is with the Strikes on Monday when some people will not even be able to take part?
exceprts from dingo:
I think this is to be expected... The company will be changing and what will happen to Parcel Force or even the current way that we work aka Shared Vans & P&L...Most of the workplace issues are resolved. On delivery there is still a lot of work still to be done but there is a belief we will get somewhere on the issues and remembering that some of the issues on delivery are a longer term vision including working groups being set up on parcels , new products etc.
