spot on , extra money in your pocket every week . we had Ray Ellis at our Annual General meeting on Sunday and he said its going to be a hard negotiation this year. apparently the top RM management are not interested in the 3 year Business Transformation agreement they had with the union anymore but are firmly in Privatisation mode .

It would be best to have a multitude of reasons for industrial action to engender as much support as possible across a broad spectrum. Pay, bullying and harassment, failed revisions, unequal workloads, most areas are going to be suffering from one or more - call a ballot get the head down and just go for it. No hour here, day there, this area today that area tomorrow...............as the old saying goes one out all out and stay out. The last thing RM needs when it's looking for investors is a militant workforce.

spot on again dvbuk, Ray Ellis gave us the impression that the Union is moving into Industrial Action mode . it will be down to the membership in the end but like you say especially in delivery land, RM has pissed off most people it seems. will the lure of 10% in shares be enough to sway it their way ?

with the annoucement yesterday, that royal mail managers bonuses increased by 62% last year, what argument can they give to deny us a realistic pay increase this year????

last few times we have brought RM to its knee's by being on the gate,
then the CWU negotiators went in and came out with the "Deal of the Century"

and we're all paying the price now.

Because like it or not the crap deal they got with the members support would have been even crappier if Royal Mail thought that the CWU didn't have the support of it's members.
That's a fact Cut Off King and you know how i feel about BT2010 and you know i'm not a CWU HQ apologist either.

Why do we always "have to go out" when a ban on OT and work to rule type ind action might be an easier pill to swallow.

I know its not as effective but i would get more support.

I'm no lover of the union, RM, BT 2010 or industrial action BUT the only way to get RM to the table in sensible discussion is to take action. I know it's a hard pill to swallow especially for those on part time hours and those who are financially stretched but sometimes hard decisions have to be taken. I would add a word of caution to the union though - this is definitely the last chance saloon.

As a WorkForce we should be taking action everyday.. and that's by doing the job properly..

We're already talking of IA that doesn't involve loss of the basic wage..

got to agree with Dvbuk again, strike action is the only way. there is no grey areas involved.lets start saving people, it eases the pain.

Think the union will find it hard to get backing for strike next time round as Royal Mail had made our working day routine lot worse. ie longer our saturday, more absorbing, increased d2d, and later start. We don't want any of this.

I agree with that. I think only the real threat of many loss of jobs would get people out again.
