Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
Im currently suspended and have been for nearly 3 weeks and still waiting for the FF interview.
Are these the possible outcomes I am also facing TBT??
Nothing
Serious Warning
Suspended Dismissal
Allowing you to or Suggesting you resign
Dismissal for gross misconduct
And what is Suspended Dismissal? and why would they suggest someone resign?
You are familiar with my case and Im hoping for a rap across the knuckles and a Serious.

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
This set up does exist because there was a lad at our office who was also part time and he also had prepped and pouched mail sent out to his house for him to deliver.
Regarding the non delivery of D2D items. The likely outcome is dismissal and nothing else. Yes, RM could try and prosecute you further but to be honest that is unlikely.
Happened to a guy at our place. Lovely chap with over 20 years service. He complained to the management about his workload and he couldn't cope. Management basically told him to get on with it. He then thought it would be a good idea to dump his D2D in black bin liners at the back of some shops with their rubbish. Somebody watched him doing it and now he is working the night shift in Asda stacking shelves....true story!

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
I ve read through this post and what a sad state of affairs if we really have come down to this way of working where the employee is not protected from this kind of abuse of the correct delivery procedure.
Firstly iam sorry misst but you have been stitcthed up by your manager and I can only see dismissal as an outcome
Personally I would go down all guns blazing and try and take the manager who set up this despicable mess down with you as it’s a shameful practice.
Sorry I have nothing positive to add but I cannot realistically see a positive outcome for you.
For future reference anyone else already in this position or been offered the same deal by a manager I would strongly recommend not entering into such an arrangement and collect the mail from the delivery office at your starting time. Also join the CWU and speak to your rep.

Sadly d2d are part of the regular workload and therefore be treated as live mail.misst123 wrote: i havent stole post its simply d2d's

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
Suspended dismissal is simply that they issue you with a warning usually 3 months to 2 years and if there anymore serious breaches of the conduct code you will most likely be dismissed.mclovin wrote:Im currently suspended and have been for nearly 3 weeks and still waiting for the FF interview.

You might resign instead of being sacked or charged for something...it's usually the `best` option all round when they catch some thieving bar steward.

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
how long ago was it that the manager changed your set up -
I mean that you were no longer required to go into the office to get the mail and that the mail was left out to your house. If it was only 5 - 6 weeks ago then I would be using this fact to tell the manager that you were not used to the new system as you thought the d2d's would have been run in amongst the mail for you. You had to make these d2d's up in your own time and had fallen behind because of the extra time it was taking you. Are you fully aware of the d2d procedure as I know most part timers never get a WTLL session or have you signed anything to that affect.
You could also try telling them that you were stressing yourself out and had tried ringing the office but noone answered the phone. It was just that week that caught you out, but now you have developed a better system for handling the d2d's.
As you have said, proportion some of the blame onto the manager and hopefully they will only give you a serious warning but I doubt it.

I have never had a WTLL session infact this is the first time ive ever heard of them. I had never signed anything about d2d's my manager signed the weekly d2d forms on my behalf. On thursday coincidently my manager got me to sign my first d2d form for myself, and then i was suspended on the friday but prior to this i had never signed anything.

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
There are a number of issues really. If you were 5 to 6 weeks behind then you should have pointed this out to your manager and had him collect them. There is no payment for D2D now because they are part of the normal mail and so there is no attempt to defraud and claim the cash. As they are now part of the normal delivery then they should have been included in the frame and collated on a daily basis of 20% per day. However hindsight is a wonderful thing and because the situation was allowed to develop, presumably with the reps agreement and you agreed to it then it is difficult to say you didn't know the score especially after 8 months BUT the manager is the one who signed to say they had been delivered! I'm afraid there is not going to be a happy ending to this especially as the IB are involved but faint heart as they say.
I can say that outworkers are not something new we have had several over the years but none now, the last one retired a couple of years ago. On a much more happy note we had a lad who was sacked for having D2Ds in his car when we were still paid for them and he was sacked only to win an appeal and believe it or not returned to work almost a year later!
If it makes you feel any better I do believe your story misst.

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
If you are on a bike delivery then I'd wager that your outdoor element of delivery is 3½ hours, since you are on 5 hours per day you are being given up to 1½ hours per day to collate and integrate your D2D items. (incidentally it's the first rural delivery I've heard of using a cycle). Why couldn't you manage to do the D2D in those 1½ hours per day?
If as you say the D2D items were from 5-6 weeks ago and you had approximately 3000 then that would mean you should only have had to do an additional 500 to 600 per week to get straight, (100 to 120 per day doesn't seem too unachievable).
You said that you'd fallen behind, but then stated that there were five different leaflets totalling around 3000 items. That isn't falling behind, that's not doing any.
How do you fill in your time sheet, how do you receive training and information. When was the last time you read your walk log and hazard card/WRAP summary. How do you deal with 'kills' (RTS/RLB), how do you ensure you are allocated holidays fairly etc.
If your problem is genuine, your Manager has most certainly treated you unfairly and not provided you with the same level of information and support as he is obliged to do. I would guarantee that your Manager/Employer will pull out all of the stops to make sure you go quietly in order to save their own arse. You have nothing to lose, get yourself a solicitor and take them to the cleaners.

Re: Suspended None delivery of D2D items
At our d.o. now, with our revision just starting, we prep our d2d implicititly, we always used to , i might add, but by doing so now and the dom thinks its taking to long , then he instructs us not to take them , "operational needs" they call it, so they get left and i assume dumped by RM.Talk abot double standards..

I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.
