To be fair TT what you have posted is nothing new, there is no doubt that the extreme vast majority of us in RM do not want privatisation.

So now RM is skint, hey s**t happens, the CWU will fight tooth and nail to stop privatisation, good luck to them and good luck to us.

So now what?

Changes will happen regardless who owns us,we all know that.

I think you've flummuxed us with your posts in this thread! Also...
It just explains why most of the in the know posters avoid this site like the plague.
Oh well ,we're not here to appease them,if every day on here we stop one member being bullied, stitched up,harrased, turned over, agreements abused in their office, the list is f***ing endless with what is happening to our colleagues,i could be here all day, then we would of done our job.
Equally the bravdo of those who say it does not concern them if Royal Mail runs out of money for even vrs or wages etc. I suggust you speak to someone who used to work for the Sun as warping how it feels .
While it was when i was much younger i do and no doubt many on here feel sorry for what happened there, but it wasn't a national disaster,RM going to the wall will be,the comparison is way out.

Have never critised you on here but this thread does you no good. What the hell is going on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

i work in a mail centre on mornings and the larget volume of mail is dropped of by tnt mutiply that around the country in other mail centres then u can see why royal mail are struggling.

There is only the one truth.

The service has been run down to the point of collapse. There IS going to be a massive loss of jobs over the next couple of years. The privatisation will go ahead. The USO won't survive the next five years. Pay and conditions will continue to deteriorate. No amount of mechanisation will replace feet on the street for deliveries. The inane chattering at top level will continue ad infinitum.

Now that has a ring of truth about it dvb especially the inane chattering...i think that may even outlast the business.
Twelve sad men in a room discussing how to move forward with the revisions and nobody has the heart to tell the buffoons that the gates have been locked for two years.
A bit like those poor Japanese soldiers they kept finding in the jungle 20 years after the war had ended... :whistle

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I see the similarity right enough ft, some poor souls will be turning up to old delivery offices dressed in tattered uniforms with a trolley fitted with odd pram wheels whilst some smart suited chatterers discuss if they should be doing a 12 or 14 hour delivery for pro rata pay for 25 lots of D2D - deciding it should be 14 and then declare the deal of the century, again, because there was no Plan B but RM wanted a 14 hr and ten minute delivery so it was a victory, again.

Can we trust the books, shown to the CWU?

Post by andy2007 »

Let's face facts here: We only have RM's word for it, that the books are genuine. Get them audited, and then we'll discuss this rationally. Until that happens, it's little more than scare mongering. :hmmmm

Isn't it convenient. That when the Government decides to try and privatise us. We miraculously start hemmoraging money, to the point of bankruptcy. But when they loose, we suddenly make big profits again. I wonder how that happens. :no no ;liar :d'oh!

Now I'm not accusing YOU (or indeed anyone in the CWU) of lying about the figures, The Truth. It's RM and the ConD'em Government, that I'm accusing of dishonesty.

Well I find it odd that these pearls of wisdom always seem to appear just before another shafting, whether it's the truth or someone else, the excuses and ratification arrives before the hammer falls. How long will it be before RM are so poor they are going to have to halve the wages, or the staff or both and the modernisation program is going ahead but none of the equipment can be provided - so the car derived van scheme will become the car derived car scheme, where you take a mate out in your own car............the pda becomes taking a picture with your phone shoving it through the door or taking a picture of the customer signing for it.......................it's all good, it will save full time jobs, like the black bin liners for waterproofs :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

MinisterofCucumber wrote:The Truth! (would be nice) has returned to reveal the latest crisis.

Hooper's original report concluded that RM management were incapable of running a privatised company themselves and so needed to find a proper business partner that could improve industrial relations by changing the 'them and us' culture and bringing along private sector experience and capital. As soon as Vince Cable announces that RM management will be allowed to run the privatised company on their own, a crisis appears that makes privatisation inevitable.

How many shares will managerial grades get?

Do the other vultures, who have just had their dinner snatched away from them, buy the idea that RM management are now competent enough to run a private company?
terrifying thought
