Rightly or wrongly the independent bloke was allowed to put out a statement saying nothing is agreed untill everything is agreed, so surely the membership have a right to feel a little confused and upset that didnt happen as fully as it could have?

More care needs to be taken with what is allowed to be put out into the field, the DTD update from a few years ago I posted is classic case of things coming back to bite senior officers on the arse.
Sorry Daz your normally one of the more sensible posters but when Roger Poole made that statement we were near the begining of the negotations. We now have an agreement and in the delivery secton of the agreement is the following comments

TO ENSURE THAT ANY ASSUMPTIONS , PARAMETERS AND INPUTS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE, A SERIES OF STRUCTURED WORKSHOPS WILL BE HELD WITH THE CWU WITHIN 4 WEEKS OF THE SIGNING OF THE AGREEMENT. THE WORKSHOPS WILL INCLUDE APPROPRIATE SCENARIO MODELLING AND DATA VALIDATION WHICH WILL INCLUDE TESTING AREAS OF CONCERN AGAINST A LIVE ENVIORMENT TO HELP CALIFY ANY SPECFIC ISSUES THAT MAY NEED FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS OR UNDERSTANDING.

ON GOING MAINTENANCE AND FUTURE DEVLOPMENTS OF PLANNING AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS AND REVISON TOOLS WILL INVOLVE THE CWU THROUGH NATIONAL CONSULTATION THAT WILL PROVIDE THE OPPPORTUNITY FOR GENIUNE INPUT IN ADVANCE OF THE ROLL OUT.

Has everybody had the training within 4 weeks because it's quite a while since the agreement - which I might add is STILL being "agreed".

When you say BD is a more sensible poster I presume you mean he backs up your tales of derring do and doesn't question the veracity of your postings.

dingo

It all comes down to personal interpretation of what everything agreed means :hmmmm Totally and utterly irrespective of the document we were asked to vote on being good, bad or indifferent I do not belive the content of 2010 meant everything was agreed.

2010 in part was a framework to get agreement on oustanding issues/topics, Im not saying that framework is crap, Im sure nobody would dispute that your first section in CAP LOCK was a good idea but I see that as a framework to get agreement on oustanding issues/topics.

Therefore not everything was agreed, if that testing had happened as part of the talks and then the outcome placed into the wording of 2010 then perhaps I might have said that I feel that RP's statement became reality.

For HCT steep 5.19 3.22mph

Cycle 13.24 8.22mph

light weight trolley undualting 5.72 3.55mph

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
