Smokerjim made a good point. Do you really think it's a coincidence that there's so many PTers in the Business now?
The Union should get a grip and sort out these PT contracts! If a PTer is working 40 hrs week in, week out then there's obviously enough work to employ them on FT contracts :d'oh! The PTers in my office who actually WANT to work PT are usually hassled about coming in early, prepping a walk doing OT etc.... even if they just want 24hrs! Several have left because they don't want the extra.

A point on claiming tax credits etc... have you ever done it? If you work OT to "Help out the Business" one week you have to tell the benefits who Take some of your allowances back. Next week there's no OT and it takes you ages to try and get that bit of allowance back! In the meantime your short, once I realised this it became clear why some people in our office were so adamant about not doing one hour extra.
:Applause

Lets stop bitching about FT v PT, as usual RM is trying to divide and Rule :no no " Never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes." At least we're discussing it, pity the Union isn't  If you're FT be grateful, if you're PT good luck with trying to get a better deal.
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)
