drivers get there allowance plus 20-60 for doing fook all door 2 doors.

as a non driver, its only fair i get the drivers allowance and my 20-60 d 2 d- aye?
Not a correct comparison. Managers, lorry drivers, collections deliver no mail, so should they get no wages that comes from money paid for the delivery of mail. Delivering D2D is just another aspect of mail deliveries and not any specialist area. It is in workload so what is the big deal about it? If you go over because of them you can book ot.
Should those who do special deliveries get a supplement because no-one else does them? The problem is that a culture has built that D2D are paid separate, but when you think carefully about it, D2D shouldn't be under a separate payment system.
Other allowances could be debated about, but as far as I can see, none of them are devisive like D2D.
So what if one guy does twice as many as another guy? If one of the fellas took the same time but does half the D2D, he must have had longer drives, steps or more packets to contend with. They should get the same pay rate for the work they did end of.
If one guy drives, or does a night shift and another guy does neither of these it has nothing to do with the labour he does, but the responsibility or socially awkward times he works at. A quite different debate surrounds this I think.
It's a 24/7 society we live in though!

It is becoming so, but until it is completely, shift allowances will be going nowhere.
