Wasteful D2D and gas-gussling vans on delivery. It's simply not a sustainable buisness plan. Afew years from now when fuel is 5pounds a litre and d2d has been banned we will see the true meaning of Royal Fail. Don't make any future plans around your jobs guys and girls. You have been warned.

That service is still to be devloped, It will be very tricky to make it work without good will.

I can't see many reasons to expect delivery staff to provide much goodwill after so many of them have received large paycuts!

You come in,you prep the s**t,you make sure your bags are the correct weight, and do what you can.
Sticking together as an office will make things easier.

Now,you are aware of what could be hapening in June then July, now is the time to get your office together to warn them and to tell them to do the job properly.

Stick together..........please.
Don't count on that strategy . There are areas where bag weight recording has been abandoned by RM. Don't know how they are getting around health and safety but this is the official management line and to date has not been successfully challenged . RM stated reason behind this change, "over aggressive bag weighing" :left: :left: :left:

Everyone is getting worked up over this and rightly so. Typical RM pushing things forward without the proper resources in place.
Stress levels are going to get higher, bags heavier, more people will be off sick, atos will be harrassing them back to work etc. etc
But remember whatever they bring in the best course of action is all stick together and YOU DONT HAVE TO WORK OVER YOUR CONTRACTED HOURS.
Lets put the pressure back on the DOMS to manage the situation of all the cut offs etc. Let them have the stress. After all they get paid accordingly.
If they are still bullying people, these people must put in the HR1 forms. If RM see an increase in these, they (senior rm management) will be forced
to address the situation. Again this cannot be done by a few people but EVERYONE who is bullied and harrassed MUST DO IT.

its all pain and no gain

longer delivery's, longer saturdays, weight still on shoulder, less pay

this should have been brought in as part of the revisions surely!

royal mail will now drag their feet on the revisions, they now will have most of what they want-an increase in d2d and less money paid out.

it's a real dogs dinner, that begs the question, what the hell were they doing for 3-4 month

This is the answer as always. Imagine 95% of an office cutting off rather than a few individuals. No wonder there is bullying. They will not be able to sustain unworkable work plans if people do the job right and stick together.
Try and marry the old ways with the stuff coming in now and you are in for a world of hurt and the poor people doing the job right will get more harrassment.

This is what the CWU had to say on its vision for delivery with regard to D2D:

27. Door-to-door must be incorporated in any new delivery agreement; it is not beneficial to separate the issue. Any change will stand a better chance of being accepted as part of an all-encompassing agreement on deliveries.

28. A number of questions remain, including whether door-to-door should form part of measured workload, how to tackle payment issues and the possible automation of the product. Communication with members will be vital. It must be made clear that we can no longer afford to refuse work, but that a balance will be sought that protects pay and jobs and limits the opportunity for the competition.

Hardly! What you have are snippets of information on this site and as for protection of pay..............................................

Since my first question didn't get an answer....
What genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues does the CWU have in mind?

I will try another....
What happens if your office doesn't like your DOMs interpretation of D2D into workload?
Or your rep and DOM cannot agree on it's implementation......
Do you use the formal disagreement procedure?
The reason i ask is that this procedure is designed to stop unagreed change but you can't stop this because come the 7th of June payment for D2D will cease whether you have reached agreement or not.

Does the agreement of only one heavyweight (80-100g) D2D per week still hold? We have two monthly 100g D2Ds and these put my D2D weight well over 100kg. No way we could handle two or more per week.

They can't answer because RM haven't told them what to say yet, that's next weeks meeting.

As for the 7th June, well the rumour got here first even before you know who, and I think it's what we would call a fait accompli but the CWU call it an agreement because they sat at the table and had "involvement". :whistle

What interpretation would there be?

You prep 16% end off.

Custom and practice is 20% a day for 5 days,it would now be 16% for 6 days. Why would it kick off between the office and the DOM?
