That is different, what are you guys and your rep doing about it.number one wrote:When you say swings and roundabouts do you mean some walks take 2.45 to deliver and others take 4 hours + as is the case in my office so when the person cycles past the guy on the 4 hour + on his way home does he just shout at him "swings and roundabout pal" This is after all walks were set at 3hr 20mins through pegasus so god nows how its going to accurately give us 4.30hr walks!!!!POSTMAN wrote:It's not all about how many delivery points there is in some if not most circumstances, and walks should not be based on that.number one wrote:Big Daz wrote:Dogs of War wrote:I do 730 drops while the fellow next door does 250 but he's going to get the same payment as me this is crazy.
But he wil do the same amount of hours work as you and will be paid the same as you.
surely you can see that if you had 730 drops compared to 250 you are doing more work!!! If you were given the choice between a duty with 730 drops or one with 250 drops which one would you choose Big Daz?
I know of walks in my office where one guy can deliver 4 letters to anothers 1.
Some walks are a mare to prep but a lot easier to deliver than the easy prepped walks.
Swings and roundabouts.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

week number 46 ( 14/02/2010 ) total claimed £ 59,170.85 by 2747 staff average amount £21.54

week number 48 ( 28.02. 2010 ) total claimed £ 45,833.97 by 2579 staff average amount £ 17.77
week number 49 ( 07 . 03. 2100 ) total claimed £33,520.54 by 2009 saff average amount £ 16.69
The total number of walks ( foot deliveries ) is 3096.
Total delivery employees in London is 6277.
You can see Door to Door fluctuates from week to week plus the amount of indivuduals claiming door to door varies. In London there are a number of so called barrons in certain offices. However it should also be noted that not every walk has door to door as there are 3096 actual walks in London not counting RDCs , firms vans etc.
Every Division can obtain these figues and should do , to ensure we have some facts on door to door. Additionally Door to Door figures per office are also available .
Which begs the question, if London had higher figures for D2Ds, would the CWU still have pursued this policy of spreading D2D money?
Incidentally, I wasn't taking a shot at London there. It's the CWU's attitude about "winners and losers" that I don't have any time for. It seems to me they're mainly concerned with having enough "winners" to secure a YES vote. All we hear is "the majority will get this, the majority will get that". This is no way to run a union in my opinion and will only serve to weaken it in the long term.
