Like i said earlier with the pension issue PROPERLY resolved it would be a whole different ball game.
Royal Mail would instantly move from technically bankrupt into a solvent relatively successful company.

Though of course with the pension issue resolved RM would be a more tempting business proposition for any interested party.

Autumn 2009 massive strike vote but not much clarity about the reasons for striking apart from general dissatisfaction with conditions and treatment in the workplace. RM launch sustained propaganda crap "this is a London thing" some say this had some success in weakening resolve.
Spring 2010 after 4 months rabbit ,"take a look at this guys, this is what RM want to do to you and worse, now will you just take it or fight for your jobs and wages?" Any questions about why you need to strike, anybody still think this is a London thing?

even with the pensions i'm still voting no. Pension schemes in deficit have the same legal satus as company creditors.....it's not optional if they pay, they do or RM go bust!
