It is however a commitment to increase the amount of work you will be doing for no extra money.
Look to the long term CCR.
But D2D into workload has been a union objective for some time I believe.
IF they are pre-packed it will be less work than now.
For me personally all I am saying is it isn't a deal breaker. For some, the most poorly paid it will be a big bonus.
I don't think D2D is the big issue in this agreement.
Do I wish it was £40? Obviously - yes.
D2D into workload is fine CCR,but with suitable rewards and certainly not a pay cut.
They will not be pre-packed,it is too expensive and more importantly not what the costomer(sender) wants.
I know a lot of reserves and floaters who do not do D2Ds and not one of them has ever complained once about it. :hmmmm
You will find out how big an issue this is when you turn up for work tommorow.

Due to a slightly larger pay rise.

And it's official.
If this is voted through then my wages will be £20.60 + £3.01 CWU subs when I cancel union membership !

I don't want to leave the CWU but I won't fund a union that fights to REDUCE my pay

We'll know more when the full agreement is published so that we can make a propper desision
Well lets hope we all will and soon but by the sounds of it is a dirty little secret not for the innocent!.

I think that needs clarifying alone

Seems it might have gone into basic pay

Basic pay must be a whopper now :chuckle

What makes you think it has gone into basic pay Daz?

If it has been that means a cut in wages for me and although not a No vote the rest of the deal really had better be in Sale of the Century not to be.

If you personally win you vote yes.
If you personally lose you vote no.
Is that what a union is about?

This might clarify a bit but you won't like it.

The Truth wrote
"On the early shift allowance, well there is £ 28 million being paid out in these allowances, this figure is down on the 2007 figure and will continue to reduce as no one in the future who either joins Royal Mail or who is in Royal Mail who decides to do that shift will recieve it. So everyone who leaves who is in reciept of that money then that money simply goes to the employer. The unions decision to put that money into a supplement not only protects that money but also allows for that to be increased in line with future rises. I saw the fishtanks comment that a motion said it should go into basic pay. Well you cant do it as not everyone in deliveries recieves it or in mail centres so if you put it into basic pay you would have individuals on different pay right across Royal Mail."

Sorry Daz no basic pay.

Personally it's not a deal breaker for me either BUT I presently get 14.65 ESA pro rata because I used to start at 0330 now someone on a later start would get £11.?? and someone who has no grandfather rights gets nothing - so why should I end up with a smaller rise than someone else? Not being selfish but is that what we have been reduced to? Rather than looking after the membership it appears to be JUST and exercise in simplifying the pay structure. Someone currently on full time ESA from 0330 gets 20+ and would then be doing households for nothing...............................

Royal mail has plans to prepack all the D2Ds into one. So u could end up doing 5 or 6 lots and only getting payment for 1. When this happens we would loose even more money. Its actually one of the only things i agree with in this deal. The rest seems crap
