No because the jobs you and I are doing are less paid than them and it's cheaper for the company to have us do these jobs than a manager, why pay a managers salary for a job that a postman can do?
The managers are the ones without a job not us.
To qoute a saying "They are a spare prick at a wedding"
Surplus to requirent.

i thought they were on contracts ? and had yearly appraisals ? could be easy for royal fail to raise the question as to suitability and then demote them i'd think
could also reduce the jobs and have no suitable alternative in the 'area' for them most would just leave or is that wishful thinking on my part ?

Who's laughing because i aint. I've been waiting over ten years for the prospect of going up to full time and one of the managers preps in a duty, attends the callers office, cuts and tips bags, while still managing to hold on to his phone telling his gaffer all is well in our office.

So about the jobs we are doing now some of the doms are doing our jobs behind the unions back. Everytime i contact my union rep about this problem, it gets dealt with for a couple of days then its back to square one. I don't think its about myself being full time as much, but the fact he is doing our job trying to save hours, and someone within the office might what some extra hours now and again, but hes not willing to dish out the o/t. EDIT: or giving someone extra hours in their contract.

Being in the job for over ten years, i do hope some managers get the boot because as far as i am concerned there is no more work for them, and if that is the case then they should get down to our grade with our pay.

All line managers should be part time, they don't need to be there after 10am, the DOM is the only one who needs to be in the office and they should be there until the last postie returns but we know that'll never happen.

That is total balderdash - one guy at ours was a temp postman three ( yes, three! ) times, was unarguably rubbish as a postman ( 6hr delivery anyone? ), totally failed at getting a permanant OPG contract.......and is now our late shift manager
