Quoted - post deleted - rules people read and follow or be WARNED AND BANNED

I've never encountered a "vicious" manager. Do yours bite and scratch you?

My manager sometimes asks me to do things that I'm not particularly overjoyed to be doing, but they are within the terms of my contract, so i do them.

I'd like to see a scheme introduced where some of you get to go on "works experience" in other jobs, and then come back and see if your present job (taking into account the pay and benefits) is really all that bad.

The bullying & harrasment on this site is by "union members" towards everyone else. If you're all so desperate for it to end, you need to take a good long look at yourselves first.

This site has always been the same. You just can't handle someone with a differing viewpoint. And please don't roll out the "we try and persuade people not to cross the picket line" phrase.

You bully people on here who don't agree with the stance of "let's go to war".

Simple as that.

And for every post you can point to that doesn't conform to the above, I can probably point to 25 that do.
troll alart

Maybe maybe :hmmmm

With fairness he does have a point some people have been very direct.
But what really do you expect at times like these as you are either with us or against there can be no sitting on the fence taking a full weeks pay. :evil/mad
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Don;t get me wrong. I've nothing against standing up for what you believe in. You lads feel hard done by and are making a stand against your employers - for whatever reasons it's your legal entitlement to do so, and respect from me for it.

The point I'm making which I don't want to stray from is that I keep reading that "Bullying & Harassment by managers" is one of your major gripes. I'm pointing out that it goes on to a huge extent on this site towards anyone who doesn't agree with your ideals.

Yes I do agree with you that a few people have been strong.
But I ve have witnessed two managers work on a young lad of 19 just to see if they could make him cry FOR A BET.
That’s how bad it can get which does not even compare to the responses you may get on here.

And yes they did break him after two days. Terrible :mad

I agree that there are bad managers in the business, just as there are good ones. There are also bad employees just as there are good ones. But that is once again another matter.

If this (obviously pro-union, anti-management) site wants to have any credibility in it's argument over H&B then surely it needs to be stopped here as well???

Dirty Harry - you keep breaking the rules just in this post you accused someone of being a manger. Please stop breaking the rules and debate like with passion and from a position of strength not with name calling and abuse, that is by definition B&H.

Another reply that does not surprise me.

I'm not a manager, just someone who is sad with the way things have gone lately.

Mate we are all sad and sick with the way things are at the moment which is why we are fighting to try and change things.

is it any wonder it's pro union, they have helped me in the past. anti management certainly from my point of view, they are a bunch of knuckle dragging bullies with no balls who are only capable of ensuring that sh1t continues to roll downhill. i have been lied to, harrassed, bullied and seen others on the recieving end of such treatment by people who's only motivation is greed [bonus]. i don't think it can be compared to work, we are on a level playing field here. you aren't face to face with a manager who will try to get you sacked if you are unwilling to do more and more for less. this is an anonymous forum, if you don't agree with someone tell them. if i said something stupid i would expect to be called a d1ck and would do the same to someone who i considered said something stupid. it is a forum for free speech and as we're all adults with strong opinions on things we believe in so expect adult language. unlike work it need not be a part of your life. i have had a good laugh, let off steam and recieved lots of good advice and information off here. good innit, i love it.

Agree with some of that, but if someone comes on for genuine advice and they don't toe the party line they are pretty much told where to go. Is this site, as it proclaims, a forum for postal workers...or just a mouthpiece for CWU militants?

If the former I would expect to get reasonable advice on if for say genuine reasons I was unable to take part in industrial action.

If the latter, I would expect to receive a fair amount of abuse for the same post. You look at the site, and tell me which you think it is.

By the way, I didn't strike in 2007 but I have done this time.

militants is a term used primarily by management, you as you have stated earlier not a member of the cwu so realy on that bassis are not qualified to discus wether some one is a militant or not . however if you insist on futhering you argument expect the answers or replies not to be :nana ones you will like

Im not in this for a fight im trying to express my opinion that what the union are doing is not going to change a thing THEY HAVE NO POWER..if they did all this mess should have been nipped in the bud as it was happening !!!! How can you expect all RM staff across the country to unite and fight together when you read threads on here and realise that all DO`s have different pay stuctures, hours, rules ..London posties on higher wages, scottish posties getting paid higher d2d rates etc etc

Going on strike for the odd day here and there after giving 7 days notice :d'oh! will not change a thing !!
What do you mean THEY HAVE NO POWER, well all I can say is that when I was unfairly sacked because of a manager, can't use the real name for him I would get banned, sacked for 14 months, the union were brilliant, solicitors, Barristers,Tribunal etc the works & I got my job back ,they never gave up & paid for everything, because they knew I had been treated terrible & the INJUSTICE of it all, they took on the Royal Mail & we won,& let me tell you FLUFFY when you get sacked from RM you rarely get your job back, unless you have the weight of the union behind you,I will strike for as long as we have to.I for one have nothing but respect for the CWU. :mad :mad

on here thats like asking how to get in a nuns knickers. the stakes are high as are the feelings. people believe in the strike and cannot understand why others can't. i'm sure though that the majority of advice, however harshly given is for the best. perhaps extreme but even calling someone a d1ck might get them thinking "hang on am i doing something wrong here". feel free to call me one if in your opinion i have been a numpty, you won't upset me honest. :Very Happy
