the tesco recorded has been delivered as well. which is a bit of a relief, but it still doesnt explain the other two returns to tesco.

if it takes say 24 hours for system to update, how does special track and trace work if its meant to be trackable online at all times? and when a special delivery arrived with me, there was no pda, so the system cannot be updated until the postie returns to s.o and info typed manually instead of plug in and upload.
bit of an expensive gimmik. the only use it has is for when people send items of value that can be claimed through compensation. (see other post) cheques, store vouchers etc.

grr.. i just noticed something in the rm website. i wonder if this has something to do with the two undelivered packages? if it does, then it doesn't make sense and proves inconsistencies are rife.

1 - Customers posting items to the Channel Islands must declare to customs anything other than correspondence.

Items with a value of up to £270 must carry customs declaration CN22.

2 - Deliveries to the Channel Islands and Isle of Man may also be subject to delays due to Customs checks.

3 - Consequential Loss Cover is not available for items going to the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

4 - Available for a small surcharge (£2.20 extra per item) from Post Offices throughout the UK. To find out more, including restrictions, please refer to Special Delivery™ 9am or Special Delivery™ Next Day.

i didn't know about this. tesco didn't advise me on this, and nobody at the postoffice advised me on this. so it was assumed that it was a normal postage transaction. when tesco just say return the items to the address, that's what you do.
if this is the case, then why the hell did one get through and the other two didn't? so the two packages could well be in a custom warehouse gathering dust, and been causing mayhem lol. or did the one posted two weeks ago, eventually turns up in guernsey yesterday get through customs and delivered because it had a recorded delivery on it?
